A lot of Chinese males I know don't like Jay Chou. They just say, since you're not Chinese, you wouldn't understand (?). But most Asian females I know love him. It's kind of like how guys don't like boy bands, I guess. I thought he was ok as Takumi. I never really cared about plot with Initial D to begin with so the fact that the movie has little to none didn't really bother me. I just thought watching the races were good enough and I thought they were cool. Chapman To is his early 30s and he plays a teenager. I remember in Surf Ninjas, 2 years after his SNL gig, Rob Schnieder plays a teenager in that movie as well. LOL. But with the get ups of the teams like how the Emperors dressed up and how the Night Kids dressed it, it kind of looked like West Side Stories. I'm glad they made Seiji weak in the movie, I never liked him or the emperors too much to begin with. I wish the movie had Keisuke, then I'd love it more.
