why do they have 1. Big eyes? 2. Their own theme music playing where there are no speakers anywhere? 3. main characters never die 4. always perverted in some way 5. have at least one stupid or ugly guy? 6. and are soo pretty too perfection even the guys are pretty!  |

Some of these entries are more definitive of audio/visual entertainment in general, but let's see here... 1. Big eyes? Convention adapted over time. But notall of them have big eyes. 2. Their own theme music playing where there are no speakers anywhere? The benefit of being a viewer removed from the scenario means that the insertion of music as part of the mood-setting environment is possible in situations where it would be impossible if in reality. 3. main characters never die Now that's just not true. From a per-capita perspective, and given the general disposition of animation directors in japan, anime sports more main character death per-capita than almost any other medium. 4. always perverted in some way Define perverted, you're talking about a country that doesn't put as much enfasis on sociologicaly neutering it's children as we do over here in north america... 5. have at least one stupid or ugly guy? Because there are stupid and ugly people out there? 6. and are soo pretty too perfection even the guys are pretty! ... Except for the stupid/ugly guy? |

1.look around you,do real humans have eyes similar to anime characters?no right?cz the eyes are the most unique part of anime. 2.theme music normally fits the scenario or atmosphere of the part when it is played the best,that's what makes it nice and comfortable to watch and listen to,if the whole episode only has sounds from the characters and no background music,just imagine that,wouldn't it be too boring? 3.hm...of course main character never dies,if main characters die,what's the point of making them the main characters? 4.perverted in some way?i guess that's the way of life,no matter where you are,what you are doing,or what time is it,people will still think of perverted things when they see "wrong things" right?example:a girl bends over and you see her panties,what do you think and do?you either turn away or stare more right?lmao,it's kinda natural what you think in those situations though. 5.what do you mean by stupid or ugly guy?lol,if everyone is smart and beautiful in an anime,wouldn't it be abit...boring?i mean like...seeing the same characters everywhere...get what i mean?if there isn't a guy or girl there to act stupidly,it wouldn't be fun to watch right? 6.hm...well...anime is like that,i mean,if the artist draws anime characters like real life people=.=''why do they bother drawing it anyway,you get what i mean don't you,lol. |

ooo my turn to ans. the ques! 1. big eyes? -cuz it shows the most influential way to see a character's emotions...and it is also the part of the human body that ppl are most interested in...so creators exagerate the eyes. when most ppl are asked what are they most attracted to by 1st glance...they usually say a person's eyes and/or hair..which explain's most y anime characters have perfect hair and eyes. 2. own theme music. -it just brings about a better setting and atmosphere...usually when a character has his/her own scene...it's only expected to have everything and anything be about that certain character...so they get their own music. the music kinda hints that that scene is temporarily being revolved around that character......also it usually fits in what's being displayed in the scene. if a character was fighting in a gory battle....u really wouldn't want 2 hear some nice, pleasant love song in the background now would u? 3.main characters never die. -actually not true. SPOILER***spike in cowboy bebop died @ the end of the series. rosette and chrono also died at the end of the series(chrno crusade). and so did the characters from wolf's rain (came back....but non the less they live in a repeated cycle of death). END SPOILER** ok but usually main characters do not die...especially in the middle of a series. this is because w/o main characters there is really no point to the series. the series basically revolves around them....if they die...wat's left? just stand-by characters. it would kinda be odd if through 25 ep. we follow the main character and his/her actions....just to have him/her die in the middle of the series. now main characters that die at the end of the series (as stated in my examples above) is an okay thing. it brings about an emotional ending.....but most of the time....creators want their audience to be satisfied..so they take the safe route and decide to go w/ the never displeasing...happy ending..so the main character doesn't die~! 4.always perverted in some way. -also not true. are these characters perverted>kazuki (fafner), kiba (wolf's rain), rossette (chrno crusade), heero yuy (GW), rei (eva), van (escaflowne movie),etc......ans. is no~! and the list can just go on and on. it depends usually what anime one watches. like if u pick tenjou tenge...well no duh there's going to be pervertedness within the series. so y are there perverts in animes? let's just face it...sex sells..plus sometimes it can be entertaining.....i mean it's human nature...and blah blah blah`! so yea..it gets ppl's attention~! 5. have @ least 1 stupid or ugly guy. -there will always be ppl who are umm....not drawn to perfection...one could say. this is becuz (1)creators tend to get sloppy, (2) who cares about stand-by or non main characters...and (3) it sometimes adds humor to the series....plus ppl come in diversity and vareity..it wouldn't be right to just have all serious ppl in a series. but usually, as long as the character is not a main character...they don't look that great bcuz they're usually not worth paying attention to.....the series revolves around the main characters...whom the audience loves to watch..not ppl who just pass them by on the street or talk to them for just a min. or 2. 6. pretty and perfection. -like i said....main characters are usually drawn the best. y? well wat creator would want their main characters looking like sh** in their masterpiece? ..ok some do i admit..but still. audiences usually like to see good looking main characters..just how most ppl in society idolize celebreties...and celebs. are usually well ...really good looking u know?
