Lain

Lain is a great anime. It is a bit odd and confusing. But I can not get the opening song out of my head it is so great. When my mom heard it she thought I was going mad. She said the song is odd. In a way it is but I love to hear all the time. Has anyone heard the song and what do you think of it ?

I just went and pulled it off of this website. Now, I am going to be frank here so don't take any of this personally. I think its crap. 1. It's english. English music doesn't belong in anime. 2. The composer should be killed. The combination of instruments and singer do not match whatsoever. 3. The lyrics are rather mediocere. 4. There is much better english music here in the west that you can download and listen to. 5. I agree with your mom. |

How dare you. This is a great song. How could you not like the song. Even if it is in english Boa the singer has a great vocie and it shows in the song. I hate modern day music in America. I prefer foreign music that is new and different from the ordinary.

BoA's voice quivers waaay too much. XP I haven't listened to the song, but I think that the backsingers should have english tongues to clear up the words sung by the main japanese singer. |

There aren't enough posts to say 'some' but.. Some of you are confusing BoA with bôa. BoA is a Korean singer, and bôa is a UK band. bôa did the OP song for Lain, not BoA. |
Re: Lain

BoA's voice is annoying... Boa, the British band, one the other hand, is amazing. They did a great job with Duvet. And Ergzay, do you really think English has no place in Japanese anime? Yuki Kajiura and Yoko Kanno use English in their songs. According to how you worded it, it seems that they really shouldn't use English at all for their work. I find the lyrics and the overall music and atmosphere fit well with a series like Lain. |

I enjoy Boa music alot.I agree with you completly about Duvet being perfect for Lain. The anime and Duvet go perfect together.

I love boa! I have other songs by them...it's all very different from Duvet, but I love Jasmine's voice, so it's worth it. I played Duvet for my aunt, and she liked it and the acoustic version. I personally like the Cyberia remix, but I still like the original version better. My other favorite boa song is Scoring. Has anyone else heard any other boa songs? As to having English in anime, as long as it works, it works. (<--In Gendou's words, "don't even question it, mortal." ^-^) |

The main character has the same name as mine curious i watched it. I must say the plot is weird but intelligently done. I love it. The music was perfect. So don't mess with lain she's the goddess here in the cyberworld lol >=P |

I'm actually listening to the opening song as I'm writing this post. ^_^ Yeah, Lain is one of my favorite anime series. The plot is so original and it really makes you think. I like how every episode gives you clues that you have to piece together in the end. It's mysterious and creepy at the same time (especially those girls with the decomposing faces!). I actually posted a lot of my ideas about the series in a Lain theory discussion topic we had at another forum I post at. It was a lot of fun to discuss different theories about the show. The music fits the show really well, too. I have the original soundtrack and the Cyberia Mix CD. ^_^ |

I agree with your mom (and so does my mom too)... I always thought that Duvet is a rather odd song, but I like it. SELain itself is an odd anime, so having Duvet as its song is not that odd. The music is unique, and the lyrics is great. This song is one of my fav. |

Duvet's musical composition is not that exceptionally odd... but its awesome, especially the mid-song guitar arpeggios. The lyrics makes the song somewhat eerie, and it fits the anime perfectly . |
