they created our history of philippine comfort women and the world war II destruction in the city of manila, particularly my alma mater university of the philippines, manila. not to mention the death march. what else could be bigger than those? anyways, i'm enjoying their animations, japanese rock and their high technology. but isn't japan treating us the testing ground of their newly developed products? and yeah, for most filipinas, japan's a great source of income. urghh... philippines is too poor a country that it can't feed most of its people. should we thank japan and the other so-called g7 for that? if yes, thank you then.  |

Their economy is right up there with America, they have the largest bank in the world, they don't tax savings, they made the Toyota Prius, they're smarter than Americans, they have the cutest clothes, and, oh yeah, they make anime and manga.

i think the biggest influence japan has given to the world is their outstanding accessories,cloth line and the way they present theirselves...like the way they act,wear different /weird clothes and accessories..people tend to follow it these days...  ***anatawa bokuwa koibito.....zutto*** *-*i cut myself to know that im alive*-* |

Tech, Anime(DERR!!), Manga, and yes..Hentai (smiles at Otaku), Playstation, and also new food origins. I love the Japanese, even tho' im Viet/American(born). but besides all that, it brings a new 'style' into the world, and Japanese Influence. Did you know, that The US spends about $35 billion dollars on goods from Japan. I forget another one, but that's one of 'em. That's pretty amazing. ^_^ im a part of that 35,000,000,000.00 dollars, lol!

What makes Japan an influential country? Today, it's the foreign debt they own. They're as a nation one of the largest creditors in the world. Someone mentioned they're smarter than Americans-not particularly so. The big difference is their ethics. Societal and familial expectations drive success, where in the USA we're enabling mediocracy and legitimizing failure. If Johnny gets a bad grade, his parents want to know why the teacher hates him. If Junichiro gets a bad grade, his parents want to know why he's been lazy. Personally, I like their lateral thinking and artistic aesthetic. |

I just love everything about them - the people, the country, the nature, the music, the anime, the smiles on everyone's faces on the street, the philosophy... and many many more characteristic features of Japan. Hopefully I will soon visit them with my best friend and I'm totally sure it's gonna be awesome. I really love Japan!

i'm still damn angry about those ol WW2 thing, but guess they try to apologise by helping those affected country when they conquer the Asia in WW2, and after that they still help us in technology... guess we're still occupied by the Japz, in the sense of the thing we cannot see? since i know and love japz thing...i already in my path as a dedicated otaku.... long live otaku! |

Simply saying the word "Jap" or "Japs" is offensive and abusive to the japanese people. Say it complete, as in "Japanese". Please do take note of that...People might think its just the short form which i did before, but i found out that it isn't. Well if a country is well developed and its citizens work hard, they'd be renowned well globally. The country's economy being of high standard considering they have no natural resources whatsoever and being constantly bombarded by the threat of nature (typhoons, tsunamis, earthquakes). The Japanese people had to be really creative to remain on par with the global standards, they have gadgets, cars, eletronics, music, games and animation quality unlike no other. Being very innovative, Japan's influence on the global economy is huge. Their culture, sports, and people are even worth looking into. I've lived in Japan for 2 years before, and I've to say everything is just not the same compared to other places that i've ever been to. ^^ |
