The way I study is try to memorize the text I'm reading and try to repeat it off of the back of my head.

i don't think memorizing wiLL make you understand it ^^
try writing down aLL you're trying to study
and maybe, you can memorize some points that way~
and, unconsciousLy understand what you're writing~ ^^

I take notes. Lots and lots and lots of notes. So many notes, it looks like I'm copying the whole book! x.O It's the only way I can study and get work done.

I'm also a procrastinator, sooo.. I should've been done with my notes a few months ago. ;p

... uh.. I dunno. I always did quite well in my classes without studying... so I never really learned how.

1. take down notes!!! every important detail your teacher taught...and every important detail from your book..

2. review your notes...use a HIGHLIGHT PEN...it's very helpful!
while reading, you can highlight the difficult words with a highlighter, and re-write them in your journal.

*utilize all your senses to provoke memory recognition: use your brain to recall items, and use the sense of sight to remember things related to a particular item.

3. Avoid cramming
- Procrastination leads to late nights, headaches, and poor grades. Instead study a LITTLE each night before you have a big exam or test. Studies show that you retain MORE information while studying like this.

4.READ, read, then read some more!
- if you have time to read leisurely, do so! Just familiarity with texts will help improve your grammar, spelling and communication skills.

5. MILITARY style: same time, same place
- according to research, people remember routines. Always review at the same time, and all at the same place. This routine settles anxieties and relaxes bodily functions, and makes recalling information conductive.

6. Take advantage of group study
- the interaction allows you to share your knowldege with others and others to share their knowledge to you.

7. MAke at least one studious friend to influence you

8.Eat right, sleep right

9.Use Mnemonics

{i hope this would help you!)

hmm im probably the LAST guy who should be giving advice to study... but im pretty sure i was told to work in quiet atmospheres coz even if u think ur able to comprehend things wif music/tv on... ur brain isnt actually working to its full potential to learn wot ur studying and the information wont be clear in ur head.

outside of ur study area... ignore comments like the "upcoming tests are going to be hard so study really hard" or "this test is easy u wont need to study that much" coz in ur mind subconciously ur brain doesnt function normally.. instead it becomes biased towards comments of other people which lead to distractions or simply trying too hard studying.

as for me i crammed my way out of high skewl and did fine... i think my trick was go at ur own pace... ignore others and stick to ur own routines.

find ur rhythm =]

Read the stuff, repeat it to yourself, and then sleep on it. The sleeping part is important, since when u sleep what you learned is transfered to longterm memory or something like that.

I act like I am paying attention. Lose interest and begin to let my mind wander. Then my body follows my mind and begins to wander until I am outside doing something more fun. If I can't remember it the first time I hear or see it then I guess it wasn't interesting enough for further thought.

I rarely study with no music >_< Most of the time, I put my headphones to maximum volume. I don't know the reasons but music helps me memorize, concentrate and analyze more @_@ Pretty wierd... hehe Silence can be a nuisance. Sleeping is also important. I get at least 8-9 hours of sleep and study during daytime.

Depends on what you are studying.
For math I just do it over and over like all the problems I don't have to do. For things like Histroy I just read the text take notes on important things. Tell other people about it and talk about it.
For things like French and stuff I look a words. If you can't stay wake to listen in class bring a cold drink of water with you and drink it threw out the day or just in that class you will stay awake.

I do really well under pressure, so I like to put off studying until the last minute. Sometimes it doesn't always work like for AP exams (grr...I hate AP exams, evil!), but as long as I stay #14 in my class, I just take it easy and listen in class.

Hehehe.... I don't study... But I always end up in the top ten of our class...

Uhh... maybe because sometimes I listen to my teacher when I'm bored and I just remember the things they taught us... I don't really study... not much... when it's tme for exams, I scan my book (almost 5 sec each page), scan my notes... take the exam and pass...

tips? lol.... anywho...

****listen to the teacher so you won't need to study... stock memory as they say (my friends)

****if you can't take the voice of your teacher anymore, read... DON'T MEMORIZE... Familiarize with the things written in the book... memorizing them will just make your head go "BOOM" lol

****Don't study too much it will just give you a headache and end up not remembering ANYTHING on the test

****Don't stay up late... your brain needs too rest people! lol

***Oh, and don't study one hour before the test... study shows that by doing that... during the test you would have a memory block (my friends told me that, not really sure if its true)

***and lastly take notes, so you can undrestand the lesson in your OWN way

Hope that helps... although some of those tips have never been done before by lady maia... lol

hehehe... I'm not geeky or anything... I just know how to listen and my memory is great that is why I end up in the TOP 10 in our class

If its so hard for u to juz read the book and trying to understand everything, PAY FULL ATTENHTION TO YOUR TUTOR which also implies to u attending all your classes without fail.
Take down notes on the important points mentioned. NOTES ARE VERY IMPORTANT so u dont have to read the whole damn textbook (its basically crazy trying to remember everything or even read the entire textbook)
Practice alot through tutorial questions. Questions provided by your tutor are quite good so be sure to get the answers after doing them of course.
Most importantly, make sure u do your reading if not all yor notes r juz for show and u would most likely fail. Understanding is most important, memorizing is secondary. Also dont do yor revision last minute. Normally time is allocated befor the exam so PLAN WELL. Remember, time is yor most important resource.

Take my master study plan and see extrodinary results. 10 steps on how to get grades like Jomunga.

1. When the teacher is talking put on headphones and listen to music.

2. When the teacher assigns homework, don't right the assignment down so you forget what your homework is when its time for homework.

3. Always come 30 minutes late and make up for it by leaving 30 minutes early.

4. When preparing for a test, no studying is needed. Let instints kick in.

5. When you teacher asks a question give an long rambling answer that makes no sense very slowly so that the teacher will get annoyed an never call on you again.

6. If your parents aren't aware, then skip school. Excuses are surprisingly easy to make up on the spot for when they find out.

7. The school text books are not very good reading material. However, if there is ever a spider in your house; nothing kills them like a chemistry book.

8. All multiple choice tests can and should be taken by flipping coins for best results.

9. Make good use of your time by preparing meals for class. So when you get home you will have more free time instead of having to prepare a meal.

10. Don't attend the final, odds are you have such good grades that you don't even need to take it.

Jomunga follows these simple 10 steps word for word. Seriously, I do. Word for word.
