On Saturday May, 6th.. I was banned for a day because I submitted a wrong request. I requested the english tv version of Sailor Moon intro/opening theme. Now.. There is a song that sounds exactly like it and another song, Sailor Stars that can mistake it for the song I was talking about. One song, Moonlight Densetsu, songs exactly like it. But, it's different because it's in a different language and the lryics are completely different. here's the song I am talking about. ~~~ Fighting evil by moonlight, Winning love by daylight, Never running from a real fight, She is the one named Sailor Moon. She will never turn her back on a friends, She is always there to defend, She is the one on whom we can depend, She is the one named Sailor... Sailor Venus! Sailor Mercury! Sailor Mars! Sailor Jupiter! With secret powers all so new to her, She is the one named Sailor Moon. Fighting evil by moonlight, Winning love by daylight, With her Sailor Scouts to help fight, She is the one named Sailor Moon, She is the one named Sailor Moon She is the one Sailor Moon ~~~ So... Am I the ONLY ONE on this planet that's heard this song or even heard of such a song?! Please give me hope that others have. This song is driving me insane that I was banned for a song that possible no one on this site has heard of. |

this song does exist. and yes, it's in english. moonlight densetsu is the original japanese version of it. the reason you were banned was because english variations of japanese songs are not allowed here, so because you requested it, you were banned.     |

There was this one episode in which Serena and her friend (I'm drawing a blank on the name) were singing the song for... some reason... maybe a school talent show or something... it's been a long time since I've seen it. But you're not hallucinating, it does exist. Good luck tracking it down! :)  |

If you take a look at this website, http://www.prose-n-poetry.com/sailor_moon_song/29 You'll see it's different. Hell look at another site and you will see the same. http://www.animelyrics.com/dance/pnuts/moonlightlegend.htm They are completely different words. Completely different. The ONLY THING that is the same is the background music and the rhythm. Otherwise, they are both different songs. The english tv intro is not an eglish version of it. If it WAS it would be saying the same words.... And obiviously it isn't. Therefore... They wouldn't be the same song. Songs out there can have the same rhythm and background music, but be completely different on whats sung. ~Also.. If it was sung in japanese, it would be different words as well, not the ones you hear already on Moonlight Densetsu. |

yeah, i know. believe me, i'm a HUGE sailor moon fan. i have been for 11 years. but as gendou-san stated himself, english remakes of japanese songs are licensed. i did say it was a variation of the original, after all. it didn't have to translate from it completely. look at utada hikaru's simple and clean and hikari. simple and clean is the english version to hikari, right? but the translation for hikari doesn't match it, at all. besides, you can find this song elsewhere. locking this thread. |
