you don't have any c.a.t?
their clothes are just like in an army.
With combat boots and things...

in our school C.A.T is required
C.A.T army uniform (in our school) only worn by officer and not cadets (private cadets only wear jeans, rubbershoes and plain white t-shirt)
the training in our school is a bit hard like pushup,sit-ups but for me C.A.T cannot affect your studies if you can balance it

C.A.T means Citizens Army Training

Are you still in 3rd year high school...? if you are... you should take the C.O.C.C training... so you could be a C.A.T officer in the next year... so that instead of having your batchmates order you around at C.A.T. time... you'll be in charge of your batchmates....

well... if you're in 4th year... I think being a varsity member in your school excempts you in C.A.T. training...

Well, When I took C.A.T its like hell... I really want to quit it but my father told me that I should finished what I've started... And in the end C.A.T. wasn't not that hard... I've been laughing about it now... and the good thing is I'd some great experience from it... I've even met some true friends there... I'm sure you gonna have an experience that some people will miss...

joining it taught me...
-wake up early
-Camaraderie
-teamwork
-obidience (this is the hardest part)

and yeah! the best part of it is when you survive... and became an office... HAHA... just don't abuse your power much... HEHE

A y a m i i

C. A. T. or Citizens Army Training is a very challenging extra curriculum... Now for my opinion, well if you're UP to the C h a l l e n g e, then go for it! In everything you do, remember to take the choice because you want it and not because it was only suggested to you by others.

Say, don't you have "Community Service" instead of C. A. T.?

Yeah... and the reason i took C.O.C.C. was to avoid being abused by my batchmates... lols... being an officer does give you a lot of perks... but being a officer does give you a lot of power over you fellow classmates...

How many times have i resisted the temptation of making my whole platoon perform various tasks... hehehe... *grin*

c.a.t. that's tough. doing army stuff. it will help you get in shape. i've heard from filipino forumers that you shouldn't join c.a.t. if your grades aren't that good because it will take up much of your time after school. you won't have a lot of time to study. if you think you can manage then go ahead, by all means.

if life gives you shit, make fertilizer.

Well it depends if your interested in C.A.T.
You have advantages and disadvantages in joining, one obvious example is that you have to sacrifice a part of your freetime in order to perform duties, attend meetings and stuff. The advantage you'll get, I'm not sure.

It sounds remotely similar to our J.R.O.T.C. (Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps) program here in the states, maybe a little more involved. I was in Naval JROTC at my high school for all four years and enjoyed it, especially all the pushups and situps type things. I'm probably more physically fit than most of the users on this forum, thanks to it.

We're are forced to join the COCC. So I don't have a choice -- if you don't join, you will not be graduated.
