What is the best new computer to get? Budget $2500

Gonna get a new computer for my birthday YAY!!! But what kind should i get? I want to do flash movies and art work. The thing i call dad says that a mac is the best option. But i've heard some bad things about mac. Any Ideas?

maybe you should build your own computer its cheaper.... ...only take this suggestion if you are adept at computers and how they function  |

Art and Flash Movies huh? What about a HP Media Center? We got ours for 1500$. 200GB of space and a 512mb RAM.    |

For PCs: Ok, if you know about what componets you want, but don't have the expertice to actually assemble it for youself, go to ibuypower.com and start customizing! That's where my computer is from. I know enough now to be building my own computers from scratch, but it's definitly where you're going to get the absolute most for your money, outside of completely assembling it yourself buying parts from newegg.com and such. P.S. If you need help selecting what components will be best for you, just drop me an email (psoplayer(at)gmail.com) and I'll be happy to help. For MAC: Mac's are actually much better than their lingering reputation from the 90's would let on (although they're comming into the public eye more and more each day). If you get one, go out for the new MacBook Pro with Intel's processor. With the right setup, it will be able to run both windows and MAC OS so you're good to go either way. |

just a suggestion:if you wanna do flash movies and art work buy a custom made PC with a dual processor motherboard.that way,your PC can run like a powerhouse^^ |

You should totally get a Mac! Especially for art and other media, they are second to none. Even though there have been a few security flaws, they're much safer than Windows at this time (until more people start using them). I'd go with the Powermac G5 because they're real powerful.
