I am writing to find out your opinion on children of wealth or they just spoil little brats who ask mommy and daddy for everything and do not know the value of a dollar. We see what money has done to children who were born into wealth. Paris Hilton, Nicloe Richie and the Sweet 16 clones on mtv.We see these kids complain and throw their tempertamions.Like the whole world revolves around them. Not all children of upper class are like this. But are they truly happy knowing everything around them is just martial objects. If we remove the fancy car, their big house and credit cards is there just someone afraid to truly look at themselves and see nothing. Our generation obsesses with them you see channels like VH1,E and mtv show how glamorous their life is. You see them on the street, at school and almost everywhere the clones who try to be like their famous celebrity. Wearing clothes that are $2000 just because a famous designer made it. Is it wrong to be themselves or they giving up on themselves to be an empty shell of their star. I am a rich kid,but I don't want my parents money to define my character.I am aware of all the problems in the world and I know there are more important things then me as a individual.

This thread seems promising... "It is experience, and not age, that defines our wisdom." You, yourself, are a rich kid, are you not? But the point of this was to get to opinions, so let me get to mine :P I know adults that don't know the value of the dollar. It is said that experience is the best teacher, and people who live no hardships learn from no hardships. All those "Sweet 16" clones bullshit is really the epitome of modern media-based society. In this society, it isn't about the shows on TV, it's about the commercials that break them up. And it really sickens me when I hear about clothing that's so damn expensive, but that doesn't irk me nearly as much as the designer label on it... it's fu*king paying the company to advertise for them... *blinks* What the hell? Aren't people usually PAID to advertise for a company? And people are just EATING this garbage up! BAH! Put that in your pipe and smoke it. This fascious BULLCRAP invades my sanity frequently. I couldn't stand those idiot bastards that stalked my high school, and I was quite glad when I had the opportunity to go to a college program my Junior year... I didn't even want to WALK during my GRADUATION.... the place repulsed me that much. I did anyway, because I'm that much of a fu*ktard, but whatever. I had great pleasure in seeing their precious slideshow go askew, that brightened my day considerably. But I digress, another thing you were talking about was the material world. Okay, you want to see how much of a cesspool this world (at least the Americans) have put themselves in? Take a look at a car commercial or two... take a good look. Towing capacity and gas milage I get, that's all about effeciency. But why is the SUV so damn popular, and why is cargo space so damn important? Because we just don't know what to do with our shit anymore. We gotta have a lot of room because we have a lot of crap to carry everywhere! And huge televisions, and designer labels, and fast food. Greed, envy, gluttony, pride, sloth, lust, vanity. *blinks* I just hit all seven deadly sins with just those three examples... |

@daedalus -are you american? i just wanna know im an american...but i totally agree with daedalus americans sell their souls to have the latest new style or car or whatever is popular i could care less about what new item the companies are trying to shove down our throats i dont own much,but the things i have i earned with hard work i dont like rich people that much,but they are here to stay wether i like it or not  |

@ D Grave.. it's true that a lot of rich kids are brats who always get what they want from their mommy and daddy. but, not all of them are... there are a few rich kids who are not spoilt, and try not to be a burden for their parents and just to enjoy life. I know a rich kid who's actually bother to work hard, and not just relax, and get everything ready for him... I think it's really cool of u, to know that there are more important things then u as a individual... just hope that there are more rich kids who think the same way like u around.. heheh... |

@D Grave If you're saying that rich kids are spoiled brats...you're right. Those stupid-a** b***hes really annoy me. They think of themselves as "gods" who think they can buy everything, even a man's dignity and pride...

Maybe not all rich kids are spoiled f-ing bastards, but all rich kids i know around me so far, and i mean all, are just spoiled f-ing bastards... So i have to agree on everything D Grave said. One day i heard this story from my friend who has a rich friend... They just walked home from playing Ragnarok Online at a game station, and then halfway home, the rich friend found out that he left his quite expensive cellphone at the game station (the fact that he got his cellphone out from his pocket for no reason and forgot to put it back in proves that he's just a complete idiot) Then when my friend told him to get back to the game station and take the cellphone, guess what the bastard said... "Nah, too troublesome, i'll just tell my mom i lost it, she'll get me a new one." And guess what, he got a new cellphone the next day... Now, do we have to blame the children, or the parrents for not even thinking about what kind of person their kids have turned to? I'd really love to choke that boy half dead, let him recover, choke him again and so on if i'm allowed to... I used to envy being a rich spoilt boy, but then i realized that i had envied being an idiot... i pity myself for that... |

I would love to be rich, just not like rich with all the attention and pressure. Meaning I would want to have alot of money (maybe from jobs, savings, etc...) but never earn it from a lottery or something because even if you try not to, your whole life will change and money will own your soul, making you spoiled and everything. Actually im fine and happy of where I am now, no need to get BIGGER things going!! If your in America, and if you'd seen that show, My Super Sweet 16, you would everything you need to know about spoiled people!! I hate those bi***es, I want to slice their necks off. You would argue with your own mom/dad, just to get flowers, table arrangements. I laugh when something bad happens to them, though in every show, that happens the same way? Show's rigged!!

blech...i've seen that 16 show and i can't believe how much they can spend on one single day when obviously it'll be over soon!!!! 1 set of 24 hours isn't that great! I COULD PAY OFF MY FUTURE COLLEGE EXPENSES, ECT. with all that!!! ( >.< sorry, college comes closer and i get more worried) i know a few rich people who buy everything and one around them...grr..very annoying. i joke about winning the lottery, but i want a respectable job to live off of. as in kittykat will support herself. sooo....i'm sure not all rich kids are brats. unfortunately they don't live near me. |

I live in a rich neiborhood and i have no money to my name.. i eat hotdogs everynight and i have a tumor in my sinus cavity..when i am asked why i dont remove it i say i dont have the money and people reply "just get money from your parents or something". Good for you, but when it comes to your health, i think it's okay if you ask your parrents to help, seems like your illness is kinda serious... I admit that I do indulge in the advantages of having rich parents. But I always try to be humble. I have seen to much hell in my life. I was the middle child in my family. My older brother Dante never accepted our parent’s money to sever him in our life. He always said you never know what could happen. You could have money one day and be broke the next. I believe if money is used properly if could be a great benefit for you and the people who are less Fortunate than yourself.But if you are selfish money will take control of you and it in a sence you will lose all of the characteristic's that make you...you
