PERIODICally, I like to come up with fun puzzles for others to solve. Solving this one should be ELEMENTary for those who pay attention to detail. This is a scrambled alphabetical cipher, based on a theme dating back to antiquity. The only letter which is not obvious in the cipher is J, so I shall give away its value is zero. Ha, I remember seeing this in one of my classes a few years ago. Edit: Actually, it was extra credit. No one got it, so the teacher had to explain. :0    |

very clever: 65-12-5-22-37-53 12-66-7-66-63-3-63-63-23 a famous 37-92-16-16-53-13-7 who gave us the 15-63-37-53-8-66-53-6 22-13-5-3-63 That was rather fun, although I didn't guess what the cryptography was based on, did it the long way. You gave us such a big clue in the orginal post - how did I not see it. |
