did you know the cancelation of the anime mecha voltes five is one of the main reason why people power came to be in the philippines.
even most politician in the philippines considered the marcos administration back then as the bozaninan empire. and most filipino today knows voltes five became one the main factor for having philippines it's freedom today.

Really? Huh, I was born in the Phillipines and this is the first time I've ever heard of this before...Ah well, Marcos was bad for the country anyways, he had to go.

Oh, how I wish I lived in Mr. Rogers neighborhood.

first lady melda marcos was the person who cancelled voltes five. but it's against for the government to interfere with the media, except if it's an emergency. so when the show was cancelled and was announced the show was banned by the government, already the appearance of power abuse of the government started to show. and soon almost television was banned by the marcos adminstration. so all people of the philippines began to start the people power movement to show that freedom should be exercise by people's choice not the government. after all during that time voltes five was a fovorite show for every filipino.

Speaking of anime's influential power, I know of a man whos life was literally saved by Neon Genesis Evangelion. He says that the series gave him hope in human nature, or something along those lines...

Oh, how I wish I lived in Mr. Rogers neighborhood.
