@Shishio, if you want to create this thread as a Cheesy Anime Lines/Quotes thread that's ok, but if you add on the faves too, then it'll be repeated. XD. I forget who said this, but it was something along the "lines" of... "...if I'm short, then you're fat!" something like that....sounds like Edward screaming somewhere! lol

Worst one for me has got to be Tien in DBZ. It's in the earliest episodes where Napa just blew up a helicopter. Anyway, here's what Tien has to say about that: "Oh good, I see parachutes!" Uh, where Tien? WHERE are the freaking parachutes?

Sailor Moon (U.S) to many villains in the first season.  "Nega-crud!" "Nega-sleaze!" "Nega-slime!" "...lowlife sleazeoid..." @Sir Bon: Oh and I remember Tien's parachute comment, and a newsman also said after the Saiyan blasted a newsvan, "They got the ROBOT car!". And then there was a city they destroyed that was qoute, "evacuacted", 5 minutes AFTER they landed, and a split secon before they let the firworks loose? Way to protect the kids from violence, anime censors! I'm sure that had an impact on them! |

| Cheesy basically means something so awkward or corny it makes you cringe. It can also be something that would be cool if it was original but it's been done so much or is so out of date it becomes a cliche. Like when a movie action star says or does something we've heard a million times in another action rehash. |

I remember Quess from the CCA dub... "It'll be great when Earth is destroyed, NO MORE CREEPY EARTHNOIDS!!!" It's a shame realy... because at least in the japanese version, she seemed to understand the ideals behind Char's plan more than anyone. So of course they had to turn her into an obnoxious brat. |

I doubt it, being the idealist that he is tends to draw young people to Char, who in turn capitalizes on their interest to help his cause and further his own ends. Out of all of them, I'd say Char had the most respect for Lalah, even to the point where he was warming to her insistance that their relationship was more than commander and prodigy. Ultimately, this lead to a rather nasty reputation for Char, purpotrated by characters ignorant of his relationships with Recoa and Nanai, and by fans who opt to ignore said relationships entirely. On a related note, I had the honour of seeing that awful dub of the first gundam movie... Char: "Hm... the best way to flush a mouse out of its hole is with a bit of CARPET BOMBING!" |
