Best Anime Cliches

Or worst. You get the point. One of my personal favorites: -"Nooo!" *camera quickly rises high above the screamers head* This will be seen in almost every anime. Sometimes the "No!" well be replaced with the name of a loved one. Commonly used in times of extreme grief (ie, someone dear has just died), of course. I've really come to welcome this cliche. After a long drawn out death scene, the icing on the cake is that ear piercing scream that sends chills down your spine and makes your body shudder. The scene just wouldn't feel right without it. It's classic. Nothing better then hearing the characters strain their voices to get that scream out. |

You should list examples of your cliche from anime, like when Nephlite (Sailor Moon) died and Sailor Moon's freind did your cliche; God that was a beautifal scene. "THE POSSE" My favorite cliche is what I call the "8 Devils Cliche", or the "Posse Cliche", because everyone ripped it off from the movie Ninja Scroll, where the bad guy had his "higher minions"; many animes have had them and usually new villains bust out their posses when the series needs some kind of change, distraction, or outright filler whether it's good or bad filler. It almost always comes up in the later editions of a series. And of course the posse is conviently defeated before the last guy; and usually one of them is a good guy inside. Also, one of them is always a drag character or gay? What is that? Examples- Ninja Scroll: The 8 devils, one is honorable, another is gay. Inuyasha: Banryu and the Band of Seven -made the show VERY good before they got killed off, and one of them turns out to be a good guy posessed by evil, and another is gay for Inuyasha. Rurouni Kenshin: Shishio's Ten Swords- greatest posse ever, NOT filler, and one of them is a good guy on hte wrong side, and another is a gay drag queen. Lodos War: Not really a posse, but the 5 Dragons were similar to this cliche in that they were ressurected just when the series needed a new "distraction". They are very cool though, and come in at the best time. And two of the Dragons turn out to be good, althoiugh we are led to believe they will bring about the end of the world. It's unspecified whether any of the dragons are gay. LOL Cool sig, Dique. |

Bump! Almost 3 years later! Wow! Anyone have any more signature anime cliches? Here's another one: The sweat-drop! Another one of my person favorites. I hardly ever see this cliche anymore, which is a shame because I really love it. Another one: The little symbol that looks like a curvy plus sign that characters get on their heads when they're angry. I love this one also. |

Usually if you have to bump a 3 year thread, something's wrong. At any rate... "That guy!?" The process of opening an anime with a bunch of people talking about 'that person' mysteriously like there's a huge secret, only to show the very person they're talking about in the next scene. It's a stupid attempt at making the main character seem more cool then he/she really is. |
