Yes, it's from Makoto Shinkai. He also made Voices of the Distant Stars and A Girl and Her Cat. He does almost all (if not all) of the work on his films and they always have a sentimentally nice feel to them. Personally, I really like his work and have yet to meet someone who doesn't like them either.

I asked this bacause i dint have any data about Shinkai-sempai, but acording to your description and watched the The place promised in our early days i noticed this the story was kinda sad with happy ending in a different way to tell it. as a anime lover i do recommend it.

The title matches the story so he is defintely awsome director (correct me if i am wrong) it like serial experiments lain without harse and weird environment

Yup, that's how he does things, which is why I love his works. It's very rare to see something that is almost tragic, but still has a nice feel to it. His stories usually revolve around the theme of two lovers torn apart physically. In A Girl and Her Cat, it was a cat that was in love with his owner. In Hoshi no Koe, two people who have been together growing up find themselves separated by both time and space.
Also, I heard that Hoshi no Koe was actually his gift to his fiancee at the time for their wedding.

Lain...dude, nothing is ever like Lain. I did a marathon of that once - watched all of Lain in one sitting.........NEVER do anything like that...EVAR!!! It just messes up your brain's ability to percieve reality.

Yes, I've seen The Place Promised in our Early Days before...I like it! The plot was very nice. If only there was more action...then it would be a GREAT anime.
