Watching Anime

Do you like to watch anime in English or Japanese sub with English dub? I prefer mine Japanese sub with English dub, but if I can get my my hands on some downloads that are English I'll defenitly go that way as well. ^_^  |

You're new, welcome to Gendou! Well if the English is horrible right off the bat, I go with the Japanese. But usually I start with the English though, and if I really like the anime I will see it, usually just my fave scenes, in Japanese. Check out "The worst dubbing of all time?" thread in Anime forum (search it), there is some funny stuff about dubbing there. |

| I'd like to add one more qeustion, does anyone here watch anime in English with the subtitles or captions? I usually do. Don't know why, I guess it reminds me of Manga! |

Oh Man you read my mind... I like to watch anime with captions too, it totally reminds me the manga version of it. But usually I prefer the anime in its original languaje (japanese), with subs in english (the most common one), or in spanish (obviamente asi me es mas facil entenderlo).   |

Japanese sub with English dub. I usually don't like the English voice actors 'cause they make it sound icky sometimes, in my opinion. lol. But if the English voices are satisfactory, I'll watch it in English a few times. I love reading the subtitles. Everyone else I know hates it. They say it's too fast or whatever, or it gives them a headache. lol. ~ S.A. |

I know what yeah mean, some times while they aree talking in Japanese I have to pause it so I can read the English at the bottom of the screen. XD I actually did that once with Cowboy Bebop the Movie, but it was strange cause the English they said and words at the bottom of the screen said something different. Lol. |

hehe. I do that all the time too. I watch it in English with the subtitles active just to see what changes they have made to the script. Lately though, I've been watching it more in Japanese and reading the subtitles to see what things they don't translate accurately. The worst one I remember is in 12 Kingdoms. The banished princess thinks of the queen of Kei and sez to herself "Urusenai" which means unforgivable or something that there is no reconcilliation for. The subtitle read "She must be stopped!" Truthfully, unlike most of my anime buddies, I rather watch anime in English, but I am forced to switch to Japanese if it is too unbearable for me in English (and I have a high tolerance factor for voice acting suckage) like One Piece or Escaflowne.

oh im one of these people that cannot stand to hear it in english, i dont why it just makes me cringe when its done with english voices. so for me, its definatly japanese with english sub!  |

| I ll only accept the originals (Jap audio eng sub). Dont get me wrong buy anime in other languages seem to be unsuitable. |
