Your Take on the PS3

What do you think of the PS3? Is it just another platform used to make us all slavishly buy it so we can play the games especially meant for it? Is it good for the world of games? What about the PS2, and how many of us anticipated its expensive arrival, only to do the same with the PS3? I can go on with questions. I'm just too lazy. lol. Oh, and do you think the PS2 will be deemed obsolete(outmoded in design, style, or construction) in comparison? I'm sorry if these are too obvious for you. I'm sorry that I'm so stupid. Okay? | The PS3 sounds cool, but it's not something I'm going to buy the first time. It's going to cost like $500 or something plus it's huge. Doesn't seem there's anything really knew to the system except for HD support (I think) and the blu-ray discs. |

actually that piece of crap costs $599 for all the stuff. plus tax. DAMMIT!! I'm getting a Wii, the ps3 is too expensive!!!! but actually I can afford it, lol. I have $604 in my navy bank account.

How can anyone pass up the PS3? Devil May Cry 4? Online Castlevania? Final Fantasy 13 and 7 Ultimate? Virtua Fighter 5? Tekken 6? I hearby declare now I will be the #1 US Tekken online player! (I was #1 US Guilty Gear player online for a long while, until my stats got cleared by the online glitch, but it's cool because they can't away your skills!). No offense, but I am so sick of hearing how the PS3 is too expensive, just save for it, or find an extra job and earn more money that way. Don't let excuses hold you back from this experience! This is another good reason for all those slackers to go out there and get work, all I hear is how there are no jobs in the US, and in my town (which supposedly has one of the worst economies in the state) there are good jobs available, I see them everyday, requiring no experience, but people just keep leeching off of their parents and the government! It's not fair to all the young students who WOULD work if they could, to earn money for that PS3. Anyhow, these same slackers talk about how the PS3 is too expesive for their budgets... |

I don't play online, so I'm not really interested in buying it. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm quite the gamer I used to be either. So I rarely buy any new games. I think I'm content with what I have so far.^^ I can already imagine how you all shudder to think of something like that. I got nothin' to lose anyway. lol. "You can't be serious! How can you go on living without buying any new video games?" That might be the way you all percieve it, no? Mwahaha! >:D But since I never read about this stuff, could you all tell me what's so special about the PS3? Besides the fact that you need it to play certain games. lol. ~ S.A. |

| It's the games, and nothing else. I don't care about this blu-ray or ultimate hard ware stuff. I just want to play the next versions of Tekken and DMC! Also, PS3 may alos be a kind of status swmbol, if few people own it, that may make you more popular in your community and to your fellow gamers, another perk; I'd like to have a Tekken 6 party on a nice new TV... |

I think the PS3 looks cool, but I won't be able to afford it. Not for a long while anyway. It's price is a huge obstacle, but another issue is that Sony recently patented software that does not let you use rented or borrowed games on your system. I think that sucks. If the games range from $59.99 to $99.99 already, having to always buy something new is kinda crappy, money-wise. The Wii is simply more sound an investment. Especially considering that you can buy a Wii and a 360 for essentially the price of a PS3. All I can say is: Good Luck Sony. No matter what, Sony will be fine, but this might be somewhat risky. |

| I don't think anyones going to really think the PS3 is going to be really awesome until developers REALLY know how to make good games for it. Once they do, the PS3 is going to make the 360 (without it's little attachments and upgrades like HD disk technology) look like child's play. 600 bucks is quite a bit to spend, and I won't even think about getting it until a year after it's out or the price drops, whichever comes first. Though 600 bucks is not that unreasonable when you really think about it; I mean, didn't people pay like 400 when the PS2 came out? |

Once again, can't beat that logic! Honestly, who needs blue-ray? I only recently found out what it does and guess what? I REALLY DON'T CARE! It just stores more stuff for about three times the price! Thanks Sony! Thanks for that! I'm glad you realize how much we hate money! We just WANT to throw it away! Hey, how bout this? When the Wii completely sells out worldwide, why don't you reconsider? Not all of us are able to throw away nearly $700(Games and memory cards included), even if it is for Kingdom Hearts 3...or FF13...DAMN IT! Why are these exclusive? This sucks! The only way I will be able to get a PS3 before or even after a price drop is to win it for free. Which is what I'm doing. I AM GOING TO ENTER EVERY CONTEST ONLINE AND OFF. If that doesn't work, screw it. Oh yeah, and the PS2 was only $300. Back in the eighties, the Jaguar was about $800 though. |

hey I remember when sony came up with something like betamax and they were so confident it would sell well. well guess what sony!? NO ONE LIKES YOUR EXPENSIVE CRAP!!! Blu ray will probably end up like betamax and get thrown away. stupid sony and their arrogance. and people thought nintendo was crazy with the controllers. but the controllers are tight, and if it's a problem, nintendo created a second regular one. that was so cool of nintendo to not force the remote on everyone, allowing true freedom with their consoles. ^^ it's nice to have same around who shares the exact same opinion.

Absolutely! It's nice to have backup. I don't think Sony's a bad company, but they expect too much from gamers. Nintendo is more open to more demographics. Oh yeah, this is a lot like BetaMax huh? |

So? whats your point? Nintendo's got a slew of great games and series for their classic characters like Zelda, Kirby, especially mario, and theres that new game RED STEEL.

Because the Wii is so unique, producers of games are more willing to go out of their way to do something cool and new. Short story: The Wii will have more diverse and unique games, and therefore, more fun games. The PS3 will have amazingly pretty games that play the exact same way as those of the PS3(even if the PS3 stole the controller mechanics) Basically: STYLE OVER SUBSTANCE. Take ya pick. |

exactly! stupid sony, they added a motion detector in their controllers at the last second. Nintendo offers so much freedom in their systems! way to go, nintendo. Nintendo is a household name, ya know: "lets play nintendo!" "all you kids think about is your nintendo" "do you have any nintendo games?" no one ever says "lets play the sony!" cuz thats just stupid, lmao.+
