I don't have a clue where to put this thread so forgive me if it's in the wrong place. I'm just curious on how you manage all the Uploaded files, Gendou. When you receive the files you obviously have to check if they are the right ones and since you probably don't know or listen to most of these songs that flow through your site I can imagine you'd have to look up references somewhere. I guess if I was doing it I'd look up the lyrics at AnimeLyrics.com to confirm. Plus ID3 tags help too. Hm... But what about just instrumental tracks? I wouldn't trust some of the ID3 tags that people put on stuff. SO yeah, I'm just curious ^_^

so far i have had little trouble with people "masking" songs (i.e. changing the name of a song that is not allowed to one that is requested, thereby tricking me into uploading a song that i would not have otherwise). i only recognize 1% of the songs that i add to the database, so it is true that i am uncertain about their authenticity. occasionally i will be informed by a user that a song is mislabeled or has a glitch in it, in which case i take it down. the files are saved to a temp directory which i browse. when i have a chance to do an update, i download the files from the temp directory and listen to make sure they are complete. also, i sample enough to make sure they are japanese songs. once i decide to upload the song, i allocate space on my file server and transfer the song file to its new home. then, i add an entry in the database with all the information i have available.

Gendou. Theres a problem with the upload. Someone requested a song from Detective Conan ( Feel your Heart ) so i upload it.Then an error came out saying that there might be a problem during the upload causing the process to fail. I have checked that the song was requested and the size of the file is less than 8MB ( 7.64MB, almost 8 but not 8 yet ), mp3 file alright, and the bitrate is 192k/s. So whats the problem Gendou? I will attempt to upload it again later once u send me a reply. |

i researched your problem and found out that the new file size limit is 7M! with the old host it was 8, and i did not think to double check when i switched to the new host... sorry about that!

Is this permanent? The 7MB limit. Does this mean I can't upload songs more then 7MB? Oh MAn!!! |

it will probably be permanent, and yes it means the limit is 7MB

| Man this is really a problem. I got some songs to upload but most of them are 7MB+. I will have to lower the bitrate to 128 to make the size smaller. Temporary unable to upload cause got lots of things to do. Well when my semester break is here then I will do some major uploading. |
