Violating the sacred rules of anime...

So I've watched over 50 anime series/movies to completion, and part of 100+ others. But I have never seen an episode of Naruto, Kenshin, Bleach (well I saw only one), and I dropped Fullmetal Alchemist after 7-8 episodes or so. Am I violating some sacred rules of anime by not seeing these series? Are there any "must-see" series to be a true anime fan? Discuss? |

Wow... is this a coincidence or what????? I'm in the exact same conditions as you are... I haven't seen them either, Although I'm starting to watch fullmetal alchemist on a local channel... thank God almighty. I don't know if there is a sacred rule or something, but I really MUST-SEE all of them COMPLETELY (the ones you mentioned)... I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'll figure it out. |

If you like anime, well then I think you're a fan. You shouldn't look to others for validation. As long as you are willing to try out different series, I don't think you should worry about it. If the only show you watch is Naruto, then you're a Naruto fan, not an anime fan. But you did say that you tried out FMA a bit. That said, each of those titles is at least worth a look for a few episodes (fansubs, rental, etc.) I only watched a few episodes of Bleach and Naruto myself (around episode 10) before I moved on to other things. By the same token though, I didn't start watching Fullmetal Alchemist until it hit episode 30 or so (roughly when it became licensed and hard to find - but that's another story and another headache). The reason I checked it out, like Naruto, was its huge popularity, and I ended up enjoying it myself quite a bit. Ultimately I don't think it makes a difference as to being a true fan or whatever. But by not even looking into some series for at least an episode or two, you may be cheating yourself out of something you might enjoy very much. |

don't worry..it's not a violation nor is a way of becoming a true anime fan. maybe naruto, bleach or FMA is not ur genre or sth, u're not their fans but u're still an anime fan^^ but i still would reccommend u to watch them!^^ |
