YOYOYo i was just wonderin what u gotta do to get ur drivers license where u are right now.

For me i live in Vancouver, BC that's in Canada, in order to get to ur driver's license first u gotta be 16 take a computer test to obtain an L, wait a year and then take a writing and drivers test to get the N, then wait 2 years and take the final test to obtain the real thing.

L - you must drive with a person over 25 in the car who has their drivers license, only 2 passengers allowed, limited driving hours between 5 am and midnight.

N - you may drive with only 1 passenger.

Drivers license - drive

So the point of me posten this thread is that i was just wonderin if it was different anywhere else?

To clarify

With the class 7L (learner or "L") licence you can have 2 passengers but one has to be 25+ and have a valid class 5 (standard) licence.

With the class 7 (novice or "N") licence you can have only one passenger unless there is someone who is 25+ with their class 5 licence, then you can have as many passengers as there are seatbelts. Exceptions to this rule are immediate family members.

I too live in BC.

Woo~ It really takes a lot of time there isn't it.... Mine, it's completely different... Just make an arrangement at the office, then on the promised day, you'll have to come there.

take a test, driving and written (even if you fail the test, the instructor will say that you passed (for a sum of money of course *sigh*)) And then wait,.... tadaa~ Your license is ready.. (minimum age is 17, but it's not like they can't do anything to change your birth year here(again, for a sum of money... *sigh*)

Oh, by the way... I live in Indonesia... yeah.. the administration here is all about the money~... Money "talks" here.. again *sigh*
this friday I'm going to have that test.. I can drive and I'm 17, but I still have to pay a lot -_-" *sigh*..

I'm not running away from the bet... It's just.. I'll stick with the 100px regulation... so for now, this is mine ~_~"

in malaysia, first:

register to a driving school. u get a book whcih u hav to study and take a test and pass it. easy test.

if u pass, u get to start to learn to drive d car. wth L license, a teacher will b beside u teaching u. u gonna learn all aspects of what will be tested u upon. usually u learn for at least 25 hours before taking d real test.

on d day of real exam carried out by the authorities, first u need to park d car horizontally, drive up a hill n stop on the mount n start again. finally drive d examiner through selected route through d town. u'll need to pass all 3 tests to gain ur driving license.

well, pretty easy actually^^ oh, we cn only get to obtain car's licence after 17, while motorcycle's by 16 yr old. n yeah, u cn choose to take d full motor licence or not(full license means u get to dribe bigger cc motors like 500cc sth).that's all i guess!

after passing, u'll b under prohibition for 2 yrs, under license P. if u get into some seious problems during these 2 yrs, u're gonna hv to start again. after 2 yrs only will u gain d real license, compatible driving license.

In the US it varies by state law. Universally you can get a learner's permit at 15 which you must hold for 6 months, and then a driver's license at 16. Some states have what's called a graduated licensing program, which is very similar to Canada's.
Here in Tennessee the license you get when you are 16 is fairly identical to the afforementioned Canadian 'N' license with a curfew of 10pm. Then, at 17 you can get another one which lets you have more people in the car and moves the curfew to 11pm. At 18, whether you've held the intermediate licenses or not, you can get an unrestricted license. The passenger and curfew rules aren't really enforced though, as I ignored them and was pulled over once with my car full and past curfew, and the officer didn't say a word about it. I didn't get a ticket either, just pulled me over for no reason and then sent us on our way.

just like owdee shah has said, its pretty easy to get a driving license.
and just wanna add, L is for the Learner License and P is for Probation. and i think its not compatible driving license, its competent. do correct me if i was wrong.

its not pretty strict here too. i had drove around the town when i havent got my license but no one noticed me.
