RPG/Other Bosses & Final/Cool Level Game Music!

Just want to say I love RPG boss/final level music! Good places to download RPG boss/level music are Galbadia Hotel and Blue Laguna if you are interested in hearing these types of songs!

Here are my fave themes:

FF6- "Dancing Mad" pt4. Esper Kefka Theme! pt.4 is exactly 12 minutes into "Dancing Mad", and it has Kefka's laugh in it!

Lufia2- Boss Theme

Chrono Trigger- Lavos Theme: "World Revolution" (I love the drumbeats and synthesized trumpet!)

Saga Frontier- Red Boss/Ascellus Boss

Lufia- Fortress of Doom theme

FF4- Theme of the Moon Core and within the Giant of Babylon

But by far FF4 had the best RPG boss music, with the themes of Zeromus and also the 4 Fiends! Black Mages redid both of these songs, available at the Blue Laguna I believe.

Post your fave themes so I can Hear them too if I haven't. Does anyone know good Phantasy Star boss music?

omg youre my hero!
i also love (how did you guess?) the robotrek battle theme.
chrono cross had battle themes that made the crazy plot and horrible characters sufferable, too.
as much as i hate to admit, FFMQ had some very remixable battle themes as well. check out T-Rex mix on ocremix.

OMG GENDOU POSTED IN ONE OF MY GAME THREADS!! (bows) IT IS AN HONOR, SIR!

Notice also, that most of the music I have selected comes from the classic days, it seems now RPGs have lost their roots in music, it's all this (I can't even explain the music now) crap and it barely gets me interested. WTF happened? The music now sounds like the background for a danceclub.

More themes of goodness

Secret of Mana Final Boss- Meridian Dance (Shishio imitates the Mana Beast cry)

Final Boss of Hydlide (often considered the worst RPG ever made, but it was a decent challenge)

Chrono Cross? Doesn't get much better than the theme of Time Devourer, "Dragon God"! I love the ominous girl singing in the intro, sets the mood for an impossible boss fight. Too bad this was one of the easiest boss fights in history!

Kingdom Hearts! Here is one modern game with excellent boss music! Especially the last boss, One Winged Angel Version 2! PERFECTLY SET THE MOOD, good job SquareEnix! (BTW is Enix pulling its weight yet? Ever since they merged things have been on a slight albeit fun downhill)

I am glad that you included Dancing Mad from Final Fantasy 6, that song is truly well done for a SNES game song and it really includes a lot of emotion (...on an insane level). I'm kind of angry that you included "Lavos Theme: World Revolution" though, that was going to be my first choice.

I'll also include...

Final Toccata (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night...if this can be included as an RPG)- Considering how many songs there are in the game it is difficult to say if this is a "final level" song but it just conveys the basic theme of the game so well that I had to include it.

One Winged Angel (Final Fantasy 7)- This song is as overhyped as Sephiroth is, but still good.

Battle With Magus (Chrono Trigger)- I had this song stuck in my head for a week.

...I'll try to remember more.

You need a reason to be sad. You don't need a reason to be happy. The secret to happiness is to face the fact that the world is horrible.

I collect Battle music :P

Which boss theme in Lufia? There were two :P I both, but the sinistral one best. I'd write more, but I'm tired, and I have to go :P

lol... Music has seem to lost their roots in games? BWAHAHAHA... *incoming SotC rant*

Hast ye ever played Shadow of the Colossus, young lad Shishio? 'Tis a mighty game with nothing but boss fights, with exceptional music throughout; I canst not possibly imagine playing it without hearing A Despair-Filled Farewell, A Violent Encounter, In Awe of the Power, Messenger From Behind, or any other of the simply astounding tracks in ye game.

Shadow of the Colossus' music is so great, that I can still listen to the entire soundtrack, from beginning to end, twice a day and still think "OMG, 7#16 /V|(_)51( 423 1337!!1"

Verily, verily I say unto you, ye shalt go hither and thither to play this game if ye ownst a PS2 and love defeating bosses in amazing real-time battles. I shalt posteth a link to some of the music, and ye shalt listen to it! :D

Go now, and click ye link...

I'm glad that you included Shadow of the Colossus, that game has phenomenal music and I'm suprised I didn't include it myself. My favorite peices would have to be "A Violent Encounter" and "Creeping Shadow". Oh, anybody else think that the sixth colossus looks/acts like Rosie O'Donnel?

Other notable boss music that I've heard were...

The Boss Theme from FF4 (Good times, good times.)

Prison of Eternal Torture from Castlevania: Lament of Innocence (The game sucked but the song was good.)

...god, that's really all that I can remember right now.

You need a reason to be sad. You don't need a reason to be happy. The secret to happiness is to face the fact that the world is horrible.

Another theme I forgot: Legaia Duel Saga second to last boss, that gold eyed dude, you must here this track, it is like a techno inspired tune of 1-Winged Angel!

BTW I hope you like FF4 MIDIs!

"One Winged Angel (Final Fantasy 7)- This song is as overhyped as Sephiroth is, but still good."

Look, the Sephiroth fan boy in me is DEAD and BURIED. Do not dig it up! DO NOT! *Holds back from obsessing about how nothing pertaining to Sephiroth is overhyped*

Anyway, One Winged Angel is my favorite song. Because when I listen to it, I feel stronger.

The midi for this thread is good? What is it?

Final Fantasy X: Seymour's final battle was pretty good. A bit Chinesey, didn't fit his character, but I like it.

Shadow the Hedgehog: Black Doom. (This isn't as good a game as it should have been, but I love that song.)

Ocarina of Time: Ganondorf's battles were great, I know people talk about Zelda to much, but... When you fight Ganondorf the first time, did anyone else notice that the instrumentals sound like calypso drums?

Most of the battle themes in Majora's mask were great as well, and Wind Waker too. Especially the final battle, which has three parts, and a slightly different instrumental for each. *Before the final blow is struck, the music really starts winding up, preparing for your blow.

MegaMan Legends: The Final Boss theme was a classical song, Bach's Fugue in G-minor.

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne: Wonderful, very under-rated game. Lots of interesting battle themes, the almost-final battle with Glyde was a remix of his theme song, which was very good.

MegaMan Legends 2: I was actually dissapointed that the final boss theme in this game wasn't very final-bossish. It was much to slow. Better is the fight with Geetz. His battle comes after an exceptioanlly long cut-scene, which plays a slow, eerie song. It stops at the end of the cut-scene, and his battle theme starts off the same way, with that same song, but then speeds up, to great effect.

The MIDI is Zeromus from FF4, the final boss, an amazing battle, it is a gift for Izumo ;)

Chinesey? Haha I see your point, but I thought the song matched his madness well, but not as well as Kefka's theme did, madness at it's best.

I have to get farther in FF:VI, but I got hopelessly stuck near the beggining. *cries*

That is the best one of all! Check this out, in my CV coming this fall, I want to use La Soilder, and I found that if I use Terra, Celes, Locke and Gogo I cna defeat the final bosses without being touched once! I'll show this skill off while playing La Soilder, it'll blend nicely.

I can also change the names to SM characters they look like

Terra: Uranus, or Her Japanese name...forgot
Celes: Venus, or of course Minako! (Minako)
Locke: Tuxedo Mask or Mamo..what is his Japanese name again?
And of course, Gogo, he looks just like..the moonlight knight! (MKnight)

Haruka and "Mamo-chan" Mamoru.

Umm... What's a CV? That does sound impressive though. What does Kefka's laugh sound like? People say it was cool, but the text just said "wee-hee-hee" which was kind of a let-down. Does he have an audible laugh in the game? What does it sound like?

Bowser's theme at the end of Super Mario 64 was nice, and I'm so addicted to alot of the boss music in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

This is a great idea: I am going to make a castle-adventure game, where the Final Boss is the lovely "yet oh so evil" Princess! Her music would be regal and girly, and she would be really powerful!

Sorry I meant Neptune! She looks like Terra, ne?

A CV is a combovideo, like a videogame exhibition video, there is a thread all about mine upcoming in "Game".

Kefka's laugh is audible, and it is SO COLD! It is in the "Dancin Mad" song about 15 minutes in, get it off Blue Laguna, it is the really long track! It is indescribable; Kefka was the king. Are you playing on Emulator? Post your problem on the "Got any problems" thread and I'll answer, I am the FFVI GOD.

I went to that thread. Sailor Neptune's name is Michiru, and Terra does kind of look like her. :) I have to get off now, I am going to cook, and then go to bed. I'll think of more good boss music tomorrow. Until then.. *looks at games*

.hack. Most of the music in the game was abominable, suprising due to the pristine music of the show, but the boss themes were great, especially when you fight Skeith.

@Random Guy: If I didn't include Shadow of the Colossus is some major thing, I'd be evil.

Best songs from that are...

Prologue ~To the Ancient Land~ (heard at the start of whenever you turn on the game)
Prohibited Art (heard sometime during the opening or ending movie.. can't remember :P)
Resurrection (can't remember on this one, either... I need to replay the game and not do Time Attack all the time)
The Opened Way (heard during the second stage of colossi 1 and 3)
A Violent Encounter (during the first stage of colossi 2 and 9)
Revived Power (during the second stage of colossi 2, 6, and 9)
Silence (during the first stage of colossi 5, 7, and 13)
In Awe of the Power (during the first stage of colossus 3, and during the second stage of colossi 7, 12, and 13)
Creeping Shadow (during the first stage of colossi 4 and 12)
Messenger From Behind (during ONLY the 10th colossus *cries*)
Counterattack (during the 2nd stage of the 10th, and the third stage of the 13th)
Sky Burial (no clue when this is in the game)
Liberated Guardian (during the 2nd stage of the 8th, the first stage of the 11th and 14th, and... somewhere else XD)
A Despair-Filled Farewell (during the second stage of colossi 5, 11, and 14)
Swift Horse (no clue where this is in the game)
Gate Watcher of the Castle Ruins (during ONLY the first stage of the 15th)
Demise of the Ritual (only song played during the 16th)
Epilogue ~Those Who Remain~ (at the end of the game... obviously XD)

I can't seem to remember the song played during the second stage of colossi 4, 8, or 15... Probably Revived Power/The Opened Way.

And Shishio... Remember... SotC can OWN any midi anytime XD
