I think it won't be.. As long as Square Enix have a nice idea for its plot, FF will keep on going.. You think? Give a reason! |

Hate to say it, but Final Fantasy will have its last ride. There will be no such thing as Final Fantasy 100 or anything like that. I think, they will end off the Final Fantasy series with a cool name like Final Fantasy: Trilogies X-X or something with the greatest gameplay, storyline, plot, characters, moves, etc. ever!! Also, I think there might be another movie like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children as well, just not with the VII series.

Final Fantasy will exist as long as people whore themselves out for it. Square was able to make millions of dollars off of one game (FF7) from 9 years ago. As long as we have money and Japan exists, the chocobo will live one. |

A Final Fantasy that never final... after you do know how come that Square actually uses the title Final Fantasy for that game whitch it never ends. Actually, it was their critical year that they wasn't able to make any good games compared to other companies like Saga therefore their profits dropped and this threatens their company to shut down. Therefore Squaresoft's manager asigned Sakaguchi with the new project that is the final project (last chance before shut down completely) Sakaguchi and his group together with the composer that time was Nabuo Uematsu made the last game introducing the new gaming system that we now know today as RPG and thus the game is called Final Fantasy because it is the last project as the failure of the game will be the last of their company. Suprisingly, it made well in the gaming market as it outsmarts all the other game... that's when it make FF2 and so on forth based on the requests made by many fans of the genre. They soon made other games since FF series saved their company well enough. Well, that's how Squaresoft made it's name in the gaming world and thanks to FF. Well, I think it stated well enough at wikipedia. Hope that explains everything since I only explained a part of what I know right now. ^^  |

final fantasy should hAve ended on ff1 since its final fantasy...hgehehehe kidding aside the ff series will not end until it reaches ffxxx hehehehe now thats something to look out for |

I suppose Final Fantasy will end when its appeal with the consumer ends (if you will). There could be many factors that could determine if/when/how that happens but it will probably be a very LONG time considering how well liked the franchise is now. Of course then again, there could be a nuclear holocaust...

But honestly, they are still researching their programs and enhancing their skill as every game they make is their experiment to try something new and do things much better like improving themselves every step in the way that what the present president of the Square Enix once said. |

It will last for a long time but... it won't be as good as FF I - VIII oh well FF IX and X aren't so bad And the char design now adays is like more boobs less clothing, see FF X-2 for example As a symbol I can be incorruptible. |

Realy now, Final Fantasy is one of Square's most definitive titles. (Indeed, its one definitive title until it fused with Enix...) And on top of that, it's a major name in the RPG genre. You're going to see Final Fantasy games long after RPGs cease to be... You'll probably see Final Fantasy games long after SE gets swallowed up by microsoft or something... |

I heard Final Fantasy 1 was supposed to be square's last game since the company was on a downfall from their crappy games and since they were saved by that game they simply made more games that look like the nintendo crap when FF7 came out they went superr rich and made merchandise and everything. I think they will end b4 the next century but I hope they last long enough until the world starts making hologram-ish games or virtual world like dotHack type that would be cool. I kinda hate the internet games like FF11 i hope 13 isnt like that.. And their also remaking all the old games like FF3 right now and FF7 for ps3 is on their prototype list If they make FF6 3d-ish i might buy it. But mostly FF is known for the stunning cinematics overall the gameplay, music, battlesystem. They might even grow into a bigger conglomerate and branch off into different FF type games. |

Final Fantasy will last an eternity. Even if the title of there name changes it'll somehow always be linked back to the very first final fantasy. THERE IS NO "FINAL" FANTASY! :P  |

Agreeable... besides... it doesn't have the same storyline along the way so there's something new when a new Final Fantasy series is out or just a sequel one of the Final Fantasy's like FF7 and FF10. President of Square Enix doesn't really care much of when will it ends... he cares is the money and how enticipated one FF release is. As long as FF series goes out smoothly... there is definately a another FF series. |
