Your deserted in an island, You have 2 flask for water container. Both are not in fix shape. One flask can pour only 5 liter of water and another 3 liter of water. Remember, it's not in the fix shape, if could be in all shapes. And there's no meter to indicate how high or low the water level is. Are you able to use mainly only 2 unfix container to pour out into a 4 liter of water? GUESS GUESS GUESS |

i am not sure of the scenario because of the wording. it seems like you could empty the 3 liter flask and fill the 5 liter flask, then fill the 3 liter flask FROM the 5 liter flask, leaving 2 liters of water LEFT in the 5 liter flask. do this twice and you get 4 liters. |

The way that it was worded, it sounded like you could POUR 5 from one and 3 from the other. "One flask can pour only 5 liter of water and another 3 liter of water." So, the answer is no..... I think? |

Can't you just fill up both of them? i meaa gosh, your in an island and you need a lot of water >.> so im guessing that you pour the 5 into the three and the three into the five again, take a fraction of the water and put it in the three, pour the three halfway and i think youve got it.......orrr you lost me....whichever is fine ^_^ |

This is my answer (I hope it is correct): It appears that you gotta have just 4 liters, nothing else, so you must do the following: - Fill the 5 liter flask, and then fill the 3 liter flask with the water of the 5 liter flask, leaving 2 liters on the 5 liter glask (obviously, hehehe). -Now, empty the 3 liter flask and put the 2 liters from the big flask into the small flask, this leaves you with 2 liters of water into the 3 liter flask and none into the 5 liter flask. -Finally, fill the 5 liter flask again (to the top), and with the water that is inside the 5 liter flask, fill the 3 liter flask (which only has 2 liters). This will leave you with 3 litters on the small flask, so you empty it, but also leaves you with 4 LITERS OF WATER INTO THE 5 LITER FLASK. Is this ok? |
