Hmm, anime with nice OST's, eh? Well, let's see. . . try Fullmetal Alchemist, Eureka Seven, and maybe. . . Gundam Seed/Seed Destiny. These are just a few that I named out. You can also search Gendou's AMusic section and just search around there if you have a good anime to search for. Enjoy! ------- |

Thx for those, but I think my question was misunderstood. I want a new anime to try to watch that is strongly tied with the music’s themes. But those titles do have some nice music. thanks anyway^^ anime Reconfirmations pls^^ PS. on the topic of music what is the name of the sax bgm's on Big O

that's an interesting question. i'd like to know myself. i can only think of anime in which music plays a prominent role in the actual plot - i.e. full moon wo sagashite, chance triangle session, gauche the cellist, macross 7, macross plus,... to name a few - but i can't think of many where music is a strong stylistic (yet background) element to the series. |

I'm not really aware of any anime with true jazz scores. Usually it's just a song or two to fit a scene. Read Or Die OVA has an jazz OP with a gritty saxophone solo, and Yomiko's theme from the same is a nice lighter jazz feel-flute, vibraphone, and strings. Gunslinger Girl is mainly neo-classical music, but I have yet to find a show with such a perfectly-suited BGM. There's fast pieces on a vibraphone for tension, and softer orchestral pieces for emotion or setting. |

hmm. I just finished watching two anime series. Jyu Oh Sei and Kiddy Grade @JOS: Don't watch if you don't like disappointing endings. It starts out pretty good but once he gets older, the storyline goes downhill and I just couldn't stand the ending. @KG: It's a cute little thing. Nice costumes, some pretty nice fight scenes, skimpy outfits for the male otaku, it just gets so damn confusing around the middle when they're suddenly outlaws or something . . . how did THAT happen? I don't know. But it's nice all the same. |

Probably Gunslinger Girl, Texhnolyze (if you're into that kind of thing), or Serial Experiment Lain.

If you are looking for an anime that has a direct link to the music the only reccomendation that I have is The Legend of Black Heaven. It is a very interesting story about hard rock saving the universe, and the OST is also really good, if you like hard rock. Just be warned that the hard part about seeing this anime is actually finding it, so I'll let you know if I can find it online. |
