YouTube had to take down about 30,000 of it's anime vids because the Japanese companies told them it violated their infringement laws. How sad.

YouTube is okay only if the anime you're watching is old, has no seeders, has been taken down from irc bots, and if you're on a university connection and they've blocked out ports for torrents and irc. :o    |

| I tend to do the same, if I can't find it on youtube, they have it on crunchyroll. as for the university line, I use them for torrents alot. Can we say, unrestricted T3 access. |

I see nothing bad in youtube anime. Its the anime heaven of poor. That means me. I cant download anything on "my" comp because its not mine, and my internet connection sucks, so it would take 4 to 5 hours to download one episode of half our.. -_-'   |

Yeah I agree, Youtube ain't that bad and I agree the quality may be not that good but if you want to preview your favourate anime before you download it, Youtube's one of the best place to download it quicker and view it to see if you like it or not and the files aren't that big so you wouldn't waste too much of your download space. In other words, Youtube is more like a see before you download place :D.  |

i think youtube it not that bad! soo... some of the amv or vids are bad quality so what! people post them up for us to watch. i watch anime in youtube because they have that anime that i want to watch or i can't download it and i don't have no more room to download stuff in my laptop!! youtube is like a place were you find different anime that you never seen, when you seen that anime then you can download it nin torrent or from youtube! like fullmoon wo sagashite to me i never seen it until i saw it in youtube, i liked it alot but i can't download it! |

@ Funsch Well, yeah, but there are people who show -FULL- episodes of animes, I mean, how can you download the episode when you already saw it in Youtube? It's okay to give a part of the episode, or even a trailer for judgements and reviews, but showing it whole will be a breakdown to the producers, I can slightly foresee only a few animes will be released at the near future because of low businesses just because of Youtube. As far as I can see, Youtube removes copyright protected materials automatically whoever may be uploading them, so that may be one of the advantages.  |

I don't think watching anime on youtube is bad...especialy since I can only download on my brothers account and he never lets go on =(..and you get to find alot of anime shows that you never knew excisted...I found alot of shows that I never heard of there like: Fullmoon wo sagashite,wolf rain...

@Imppy The irony of it all is that you can download what you see from Youtube through the mozilla firefox plugin that lets you download flash video. And whats even more ironic is that "you are downloading it" while your watching the video on youtube cause it goes to your internet cache :P And secondly as I said in my earlier post it's good cause you can see the anime before you download it. Believe me I've wasted lots of download space cause I didn't see the anime before I've fully download the whole series, and despite reading all the good reviews on it, and in the end I didn't like the anime series that much, let alone watch all of it. Now I can see the anime before I download it on youtube :D or some other sources. :D And oh yeah I just don't download anime, cause it takes too long and wastes download space, I also rent them (legit versions of course) from the video shop. It's only anime that they don't have in the video shop that I download, and coming from Australia we don't have as much anime say like America, so we don't really have too many options into getting the anime we want. I agree it's bad for business but hey if the anime's not that good then it shouldn't be worth purchasing at all. We as customers want the best we can get from a product, we want our money's worth. Oh well, so be it, I can just go to other sites to stream online anime ahahahahahahahaha! :P But seriously I rather preview a few episodes of the anime before I rent/purchase/download it, cause if I don't like the anime then it's not worth my time renting, purchasing, or downloading it. I don't think of downloading anime as being illegal, I think of it as "borrowing" anime from different people :P |

ive been watching anime from youtube a lot lately.. but this is the 1st time ive saw this thread saying that watching from youtube is ****.. well for my opinion..i see no sense at all.. as long as i enjoy watching it.. it doesnt matter where it came from.. as long as i enjoy it.. ryt? y watch it if u cant enjoy it.. ahhh..my opinion seems pointless.. sorry guys..hehe!  |

I also love to use you tube in profiles or websites^^. I uber amounts of people useing you tube vids in post, or profiles. It is also a usefull tool to show amvs that you made. :3 But I too lazy to make amvs. DON'T SLAP THE MONKEY!! |

I've never used youtube for watching anime... but I guess is not that bad, althought the thing about the copyrights is really controversial. Yup, I can't even think of downloading any anime episode from my PC, it's sooo slow that will take me like 8 hours for downloading just one episode from any anime... so sad, so true T_T   |
