Anyone play Pachinko?

I was in Japan last summer(around Asakusa) and i did notice a Pachinko place...it was very loud inside. ^_^ of course i went in and it reminded me of Las Vegas... But what exactly is it? i dont really understand what i saw... |

| It's gambling. You play for the little silver balls. They get tallied up, you get a note, and you trade the note for items behind the counter. In some places, you can you trade the note OUTSIDE the pachinko place for other stuff, but I think that part isn't quite legal. |
