Is it better when anime turns into live action?
|
I personally dont approve when people try to act it since they dont even look like the character. ill give examples of animes that i know turned into live -Sailormoon=ewww looking -Death Note= ryuku looks like the hulk in the movie which is really messed up CGI -Great Teacher Onizuka= really killed my image of my favorite anime teacher -Jigoku shoujo= started watching live action and enma ai actress is too old, the old guy isnt bald, but the only thing i like it the guy of the trio because he's Daisuke from Kamen Rider Kabuto!! -i think i might have seen a preview of bleach live action, or was it naruto? umm i currently dont know many anime live actions rite now since i dont live in japan so tell me some more if you know please? |

I think it really depends on the show. I didn't think GTO was too bad, considering. It was certainly different than the manga, but not in a bad way. I heard Battle Royale was a good movie, haven't seen it yet, though. And I think Death Note looks good. Anyone seen the Initial D movie? I thought the drifting was still pretty dang good.

The Prince of Tennis also had a movie, and Fuji doesn't smile. |

Personally, I don't think so. Some can be good, others can be bad. Worst example is Initial D. Can't name a good example since I haven't seen a lot, but most just aren't that great. |

I don't think it's good, real actors just cannot do what anime characters can do and they don't look the same. When they take an anime and make a live action version of it, it just looks horrible. |

i dont really like anime live actions because most people will have high expectations for their favorite anime and hoping that the live action movies would be as awesome as the anime. acting out an anime isnt so easy. most live action movies would have bad actors, altered storylines and such. maybe they are awesome, but people would compare them with the original anime, so people tend to say that those movies arent the same with the anime, so its not good. i just watched the live action movis death note recently. i found that the characters are kinda good. they are similar in appearance and clothing, which is cool. but i dont really like ryuk. in my opinion, the special effects are kinda bad. some of the parts have been changed, but it still has the suspence and intelligence, so i still like it. |

I agree with the one above me. At least for the moment of technology, we cannot recreate the amazing features that happen in anime. I would like to see more of the cool things anime characters do in real life, but face it, we are limited to the short expectations of the human anatomy and of physics. Special effects can only go so far. I just hope the future bodes well with new techs and CG effects. Then my life will be complete. ^^ |

aside from limited sfx technology, i think the bigger problem is that many of the filmmakers just thoroughly suck. i've seen some great films from great directors with what many would consider mediocre to bad actors, but the directors had the talent to draw out from their actors the gestures, emotions and actions they wanted. plus superb editing made everything come together. |

The dramas made into live action or from manga are 100 times better than the anime-versions but they are still bad. |

i just remember one wonderful live-action movie (based on a manga) that uses sfx extensively yet manages to weave it almost seamlessly into the screen: always san chome no yuhi (always - sunset on third street). of course, always doesn't have any fancy combat or fantasy sequences as in any of the aforementioned movies, but it's quite impressive. so much so that you can ignore it to focus on the important aspects of the movie, such as the plot, character development and overall composition. i highly recommend. |

it kinda depends on what kind of live action you're talking about, if it's something like Gokusen, GTO, Grave of the Fireflies, or Hana Yori Dango, then yes. all very good live action. while live actions like Sailor Moon are horrible. i think if its one of those real-life/slice of life kinds of live actions then theyre probably good |

Flat out no. I fear of even looking at those stuff.... I think I knew of their existance, but I chose to ignore it..... No no no no no no no..... *sinks into a dark corner to forget about the implications*..

i never saw one before and i don't have any interest seeing one in the future. There are many things actors can't do when comparing to anime. i think it just kills the whole anime....X.x |
