have you heard of the japanese live action version of bishoujo senshi sailor moon? stumbled upon a site with this picture.   it looks kinda nice. i want to watch it!!! too bad it's so hard to find this stuff in our country. i've also read rumors that minako (venus) here has tumor and she has yuri relationship with rei (mars). is that true?

It's very fun. :) From what I've heard Sailor Venus has a non-specific malignant disease, but not a tumor. And I don't think that Mars and Venus are in a relationship, I think there will only be things that make it seem so. I've seen the first 8 episodes on youtube, (before they took them down.) and I borrowed the first volume of the bootleg DVD from a friend, which had the first 8 episodes as well. (Never buy them! They are so bad they call Queen Beryl Queen Berry!) There are sites where you can download the fansubs. I can't unfortunately because I have dial-up. It took me all day to watch each of those episodes. |

too bad... i thought it was a dream come true... y'know... minakoxrei... been a fan of those two... a great yuri couple indeed... *sighs oh well... i think they look nice except for the extreme colorific hair. wigs perhaps? they should have dyed their hairs instead. btw, isn't rei hino here, the same japanese gal in the movie The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift? She's so gawdamn hawt!

If you really want to know more about the series i suggest either looking it up on "wikipedia" or visiting this site (one of my faves) Pretty Guardian Sailormoon Yes Rei Hino aka. Kitagawa Keiko is indeed the girl in the latest Fast & the Furious. Like is said in the sailormoon thread the series follows the manga more closely than the anime series. It's the usual campy live-action but it's a fun campy. The character & plot developments are dealt with much more deeper than the anime series & the fact that they are real people makes it more interesting. Some people like this series but some don't which is fine....if you like the manga & are a fan of SM in general you'll love it...if you're not into SM than you probably won't. There's a total of 49 episodes + the Special act after the 49th, a "making of", & finally act 0 (zero) which dwells deeper into the birth of Sailor V. I kinda figured the Youtube episodes will eventually be removed so you can either get it on torrents or if your desperate a "bootleg" copy of it like poor Nekorin.  |

For example, we find out that Rei's father doesn't love her. If that hasn't caught you I don't know what will. It was a good episode. But really, don't buy the bootleg DVDs. It's as if it was Japanese, translated into English, by Chinese people. In fact, that's probably exactly what they are. Ah! I shall get DSL! And ususally Venus is my favorite, but live action Rei is so pretty, especially when she's not happy. I must see Fast & the Furious! :D |

| The storyline is very complicated and it's not like the anime. i have seen all of the episodes and each of the characters are different, like the couple naru and kunzeito or neprhito (don't know who). You don't see it in there :p |

I loved this series. Minako and Rei aren't in a relationship in this version. However it is VERY easy to see how one could develop from their actions in the series and particular a certain few scenes with Rei after a certain something that happens near the end of the series.  |
