Whats your all time favorite Miyasaki movie and why? Did it make you laugh, cry, or get your heart racing? My favorite without a doubt is Princess Mononoke. This movie has the best storyline with the right mix of caring, action, love, and magic. What's your favorite? |

You mean MiyaZaki? ^^ Well, I really don't know...all of his movies are really good!! I esp love: - Mononoke Hime - Howl's Moving Castle - Spirited Away - Whisper of the Heart I love these four movies!! They're the best...however, if I HAD to choose one, I would choose.... Howl's Moving Castle. I love the plot, and I love Howl...and Calcifer xD And plus the fact that it's more mature than all of his other movies too. But Mononoke Hime comes really close after Howl's Moving Castle...and who knows? It might change...cause I haven't seen his newest one, Gedo Senki yet. I might love that the most after I see it! xD |

i've enjoyed all miyazaki and ghibli works so far, but the top miyazaki movies for me would be spirited away, nausicaa of the valley of wind and porco rosso. spirited away is probably the most subtle of miyazaki's works - it doesn't lay its message as thickly as nausicaa or mononoke hime - perhaps a bit more esoteric than the others, but overall very well executed. miyazaki worked on whisper of the heart as the screenwriter and in its production but was not the director - that would be yoshifumi kondou. and gedo senki was directed by miyazaki's son, goro miyazaki. hayao miyazaki had nothing to do with the latter film, except to have come up with the idea of making such a film and getting the author's permission. still, it's ghibli, and i can't wait till the damn license to the crappy live-action earthsea expires in the states so that gedo senki can be shown in theatres in the us. |

I really like Princess Mononoke the best. It has a good story line and lots of action. I also enjoyed Howl's Moving Castle though the last part of the movie made no sense. I can't wait to see the new movie Gedo Senki! Hopefully it will be good. |

I like: - Mononoke Hime ; the plot was interesting, the way it flows was really addictive and I love how the characters were brought out. I like the symbolism. - The Cat Returns ; this is a fast-paced story with lots of amusing shots and <333 wonderful cat scenes. I still laugh at the scene where Haru meets the Neko-Ou. - Spirited Away ; the plot is interesting--it dragged me into trying to understand the Japanese culture. I like the relationship between Chihiro and Haku. - Mimi wo sumesaba ; ... this one gives me a fuzzy feeling. The feeling of being in love with someone without really knowing. And of course, the cat story is pretty cute. ... actually I like almost all Miyazaki's movies. I can re-watch them any time I want and still feel happy at the end of each movie. |
