Hi, I would love to share my understanding towards this anime. First of all SDk is a story about historical events. Some bad evil, Nobunaga intended to twist the original historical events of Japan. What events? This part we'll have to refer back to the origin of Japan's history as the story was based on the Battle of Seikigahara (perhaps the greatest civil war in Japan) was fought in 1600 by Yukimura's Western Army and Ieyasu Tokugawa's Eastern Army. It is well known for unprecedented casualties. the west had the advantage beacuse of the absence of Hidetada Tokugawa (Benitora) and his troops, a majority of Tokugawa's army. Despite this, the battle ended in triumph for Ieyasu. As a result, the Tokugawa's rise to power was assured, and he was able to establish a Shogunate that would remain until 1686. Some historical charaters: Sasuke Sarutobi, Saizou Kirigakure, Izumo no Okuni, Hanzou Hattori,Anayama Kosuke. At the end, the origin of Japan's history was being restored, where Yukimura fought the battle with Benitora, despite of their friendship. Then again about Kyo, Kyoshiro and Yuuya, since they don't belong to the original historical character, thus the author had made them retired from the battling events!! And of coz they were better off... Moreoover if anyone's wondering, what had happened to both Kyo and Kyoshiro, I would assumed that the two soul had emerged into one body. As it was explained in one of the episodes, Kyo and Kyoshiro was actually from one soul, but due to some circumstances, they were separated. That's part of my understanding, and I would like to apologize if my definitions is causing more confusion. Ja ato de, mi-chan

Ah you forget another historical figure, Sanada Yukimura too, i'm not sure? But then the SDK anime is kinda messed up in my opinion. The manga version is ok, it's more detailed (i suggest you read it, if you really and seriously wanted too) and longer but then in my opinion it's as messed up as the anime since it's kinda.....out of his main purpose somehow....And i completely don't think that it's ever related to any historical events at all, sure there are some historical figures but then the story is like i said before, messed up. No offense to samurai deeper kyo fans, it's just an opinion. For i think that samurai champloo rocks more than SDK

Hi, Yes SDk has somehow connected to one of Japan's most well known events!! Maybe you can go to the following website to know more about Sanada Yukimura's biography ^_^ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanada_Yukimura Eto...Since SDk was group under the genre of Action and Historical setting!! I personally view that SDk has some sense of mystery and moreover...I loved mysteries!! ^,^ Eto...don't worry, we knows different folks different strokes!! It's good to hear from individual's point of view, otherwise, what's a forum for?! Ja mata ne, mi-chan

The anime is okay, not bad, but the manga rules over it. IMO, the Samurai Champloo manga does not beat the SDK manga. Samurai Champloo's animation is of course better than SDK's animation. SDK's animation was just mess up. The manga is still ongoing in Japan though. |

SDK is a really nice anime, but i second the motion; the ending's quite confusing o.0 *off topic* i just noticed that some mangas though still ongoing an anime version of it is released; and(for me) it leaves us confused cuz after all, the manga's not done yet. why do they do that? |

the animated series was a little short. it was confusing who Yuya ended up with.. |

chappie>>yup, I'm kinda confused too =3. Though chidorichibi could be right with Kyo and Kyoshiro merging into one body...then who's grave did Yuya visited on the end scene? I think Yuya probably ended up with Kyo...but then maybe its because of those fanfics on fanfiction.net tthat's rubbing that on me...so yep, I'm not sure too. |
