aahh i dont feel comfortable with someones life depending on my decision. im hoping its just a misdmeanor case

yea but it doesnt make me feel any better. i hope its a juvenile case. that would take a load off.

That's usually the main idea of it. There isn't a way to get out or occasionally tell them "you're sick"?

nope its the law. i almost got out cuz im a full time student in college but just my luck the trial is during summer vacation so it doesnt count. i really have to be sick. if they found out im not sick or i dont show up i could be fined 1000 dollars

Jury duty o.O Woah, so they really do pick somebody almost randomly to make decicions. Or something like that ^^' But reaaally, I think that could be intresting :´DD And boring -.- But good luck with it!   |

That almost happened to me...I was supposed to go back in April, but, well, school... From what I've heard, there's often a prescreening before you even get to the trial part in order to sift through people with really strong biases or opinions on criminal law. And sometimes they call too many people in, so they might just send you home anyway. Don't worry so much, just be honest and true to your beliefs. It's weird how these things just pop up when you forget about them...I went 2 years before getting summoned the first time. |
