Ok... you know English and she hardly knows it. She knows Japanese and you don't know Japanese. So what happens if she says "yes" after you ask her out? Do you think you can carry on the relationship without knowing her language? You can't keep asking her out since that might be the only Japanese you know. ------- |

It'll be fine. Japanese girls feel that love is the most important thing in a relationship. Your feelings can still come across without understanding the other's language. I'm sure she'll be happy that you tried to learn Japanese just for her! *(^-^)* Let's see... I would go for a direct approach, like: "Suki desu. Tsukiatte kudasai." Translation: 'I like you. Please go out with me.' Ganbatte ne~! Good luck!! (^o~)v |

awww love(...or like) conquers all even language bounderies! go get'em! good luck ^.^ i don't know many phrases to help beside what rika chan said (i'm a noob at japanese)...but you could maybe tell her she is pretty or cute. which are kirei desu and kawaii desu. or you could say...boku to issho ni eiga o mi ni ikitai ka?...which means would you like to go see a movie with me...but i'm not sure if the grammar is spot on...i'm just learning me-self but i'm sure whatever you say you'll get marks for trying!! |

HAHAHAHA guess who said YES! weeeeeee... Oh and yes we understand each other because she can speak English with a few grammer errors? My English is limited too. I dont know why I said that but whatever. If you can give some more phrases and stuff please do tell. |

i thought you were an american until you said your english is limited. so what country are you from?? assuming both of you can speak engrish and still understand each other i say that your relationship with her will go well. good luck man. ;)

From the way you use English, i'd say your English is less "limited" than ninety percent of the American populous. |

ow.. you such a lucky man in this world... i envy you for having japanese girl.. owh, i like to meet japanese girl too.. anyway, this is what i've learn.. it might be helpful.. when you want to ask something to her, remember the are simple rules for making simple sentences, here it goes, === NOUN + WA + NOUN + DESU + KA === so, the example give is : 1) Anata wa nihon-jin desu ka? "are you a japanese?" 2) Anata wa shinjuku-umare desu ka? "are you staying in shinjuku?" 3) ima, anata wa ueru desu ka? " are you hungry now?" if you saying something, there also have a simple rules.. === NOUN + WA + NOUN + DESU === example given is : 1) (w)atashi wa ueru desu. "I am hungry" 2) atashi wa otousan to okaasan wa genki desu. "My father and mother is in good spirit". for noun and adjective sentences, use this rules. === NOUN + WA + ADJECTIVE + DESU === however, remember that desu is used for meaning something is right, so there a point when you dont need to use it. and also, u might omit your self if there is a possibility that you are the subject. for example, if you're saying that u miss her, u might omit your-self word and just say you miss her. anata ga inakute sabishi desu. "when you not here i'm missing you". (notice that the sentence have no self-word(watashi wa) meaning that you have omit your self-word and just proceed to the object.) also remember that conversation not depends entirely on the language you are spoken. for someone who are really into it, he/she can definitely still inderstand you even you are not saying a word. "language" is acting as just a transportation for better understanding. ok? |

Ooo. talking about girls. if you want to go out with her, you must be patient. use beautiful yet simple words to impresses her. and also, as long as you have great performances and personalities, the language will not be the problem. that's some advice from me. if something not right with my advice, please tell me. |
