Why, are you taking a survey? Seriously though, if you're going to start a topic you'll need to do better than that. Is there some question you have related to it? Did we think it was good/bad? Why did you think it was good/bad? I've enjoyed it very much myself. I haven't been able to finish the second TV season, but I've seen everything else made for the title (including first season, OVAs, mini-specials, and live-action drama). (ANN encyclopedia link) It's a lot of fun watching Natsumi acclimate herself to her new job in the police department, as well as becoming Miyuki's partner, dealing with her interest in an older man (her chief - this is more of a running joke than anything else), and the general insanity they exhibit in successfully capturing their prey. There's also a good supporting cast. Aoi -- a man who feels more comfortable dressing up as a woman because he spent a lot of time in the subways trying to catch perverts and purse-snatchers. Yoriko -- the station's busybody who always finds out the hottest gossip, and ended up at the top of her police class from pure luck (guessing on written tests, accidental marksmanship in shooting tests). This last point on Yoriko leads to some great episodes where the person who finished second behind her keeps challenging her to rematches, such as a paintball game and a race to see who can give the most tickets/capture the most suspects. Finally there is Nakajima who has fallen for Miyuki and can't seem to admit it to her. He is on the motorcycle patrol and keeps helping them out on odd assignments. There's a great group of characters, a lot of different stories that are excellent, and along with all of the drama and action, just a good lighthearted tone overall that makes it an enjoyable watch. For some reason people can't see past the fact that it's a show about the police, and how (seemingly) "uncool" that is, I guess. If you put these ideas aside and just give it a chance, you might actually enjoy it. It's not a real fast-paced show, just bear that in mind. Also, it's based on a manga by Kousuke Fujishima (who also created Ah! My Goddess), so maybe that helps make up your mind too. |
