I like it...by why make a song in Russian? It's not even that pretty of a language. Maybe it has something to do with SAC that I don't know about. But yeah, it's a pretty nice song, as is expected from Yoko Kanno.

Yes, I am an Inner Universe fanatic! It makes me want to learn Russian. Ghost in the Shell music is so random and cool!

Considering Yoko Kanno didn't even write the lyrics...

So, what if Yoko Kanno didn't write the lyrics? That's not her job. Her job as a composer is to write the music, which is the hardest part of creating a song, and which she did amazingly. And the lyrics are great!!! I just love Russian! It's a beautiful language!

Kanno seldom makes lyrics, some of which under "Gabriela Robin", but having a set of lyrics credited under her name is rare.

Besides, I don't think that it matters if she makes the lyrics or not. It's similar to complaining why she herself does not sing the song.

Inner Universe is a great song, because of its dynamics, the rhythm syncopation, the unconventional use of melismatic vocals versus a chorale one with a techno background...

You think I care if she writes the lyrics? You guys wanted to know why its in Russian since she obviously doesn't speak it.

I think I prefer Rise to Inner Universe. Anyways can anyone recommend songs similar to these two?

Try "Cyber Bird". Not only did Kanno compose it, she also sang and wrote the lyrics to it. I have yet to find a person who does not like the song. :)

About the language thing - it's in Russian because the singer, Origa, is Russian. She and somebody else wrote the lyrics.

You woul probably like "Mizu no Madoromi", which is also by Origa.

If you're happy and you know it, damn you.
