Based on a h-game with the same title(which is famous for its bad and gruesome endings) The anime was recently released two days ago. there was an OVA (not really an OVA, but was the first chapter preview for the game). It's not out on subs yet but the first episode was done pretty well, but it looks similar to the OVA. now i wonder which ending are they going to show... |

Me again....i guess you're getting tired of me replying to your threads eh? What can i say me & you have similar tastes in anime/books i assume. The OAV you're talking about is basically the intro to the game...there is a video out there as well that has all the scenes in the game (normal & hentai) made into one. From what i know the anime is a retelling of the game...so they might not even use any of the endings from it. Not that i wanna see them again....believe me they are some of the most horrific scenes you'll ever see. Once you see them once you can't get them out of your head! *shiver*...the worst for me is the "cellphone"...nuff said. Some tidbits....Makoto the "main hero" if you can call him that is one of the most useless characters you'll ever see. He is sort of like Rin (Shuffle) or Takayuki (Kiminozo) but 100x more pathetic. When playing the game i sometimes get soo annoyed with his character...some of the choices you have to make are lose-lose....which is why the "good" ending is so hard to get. I would have love to see them use "Still I Love you" as the main theme but DeviceHigh does a nice job with "Innocent Blue".....& CooRie is always good. Still 12 episodes is a tad short....but we'll see what content they include from the game. *on a side note* Is it me or is it that lately there has been alot of news of H-games being turned into anime series. With Otoboku, Schooldays, Touka Getten....Prism Ark, CLANNAD, Saishuu Kujira, Kara Kyoukai, Ef~tale of memories~ on the way.  |

Nope, not really. I always have this feeling that you'd be the first one to answer my threads XD. Since most of the anime I posted are usually from graphic novels or books. Yea, I think we do have similar tastes in anime and books. But since I watch any anime genre out there...(from yaoi(or shounen-ai, if you want) to yuri and shounen to shoujo...hmmm) examples of bad endings? (i know these ending from a few ranting bloggers XD) I haven't played the game and probably won't. I'm not really a fan of graphic novels, although I do like their plots and storyline, which is why I watch the anime version...Too bad Keitai Shoujo's anime doesn't really have a proper plot T_T.Being said, I prefer 2d-fighting and shmup XD. Sfter reading on the game from a few anime bloggers a few months ago, I knew Makoto is a poor excuse for a man. Rin and Takayuki, how should I say this...a bit more of a man than he is!(I recalled he admittingly said 'even if I'm not a man, that's fine!' my translation might be wrong though.i know what he's trying to say, but can't express them in words >.<). Simply to say, he's the most pathetic protagonist ever...Thanks to him, I see Fujii Touya, Rin and Takayuki in a whole new light... I found limited eds dvds of School Days vol 1-6 in CDJapan(not released yet), but it costs way too much for me to buy T_T. If I convert it to my currency, more than S$100. And I kept forgetting to order the game's ost...wanted to get one for more than 3 months now, but I kept ordering new anime singles...and became broke over a day XD. I didn't get any luck with the OP and ED themes though. I'm itching to hear track 18 XD from the game OST though(KNIFE OR SAW? think I'll choose knife) I've seen novels (released by Harvest Novels) on it...but I just simply well...can't pick it up, and read it, thanks to the bad endings i guess "-.- There's been a sudden boom in H-games turning into anime alright. There's even some anime which I watched that I didn't know was H-games, Otoboku was one of them. I just found out it was from a game a few weeks ago. I found out a few minutes ago that Touka Gettan was from a game after reading your side note O_o. Now I'm hoping that books such as GOTH or games such as Nursery Rhyme will be animated...Nursery Rhyme's OP is getting stuck on my head(it's already stuck eversince i saw that code geass AMV...) that I'm wishing they make the anime NOW >.< |

It sounds pretty interesting: "Based on the fully animated game by 0verflow infamous for its violent scenes." ~a short description taken from AnimeDB's full description of the anime Well, I don't understand Japanese yet, so I can't really dL the RAW episodes yet, but waiting for the subs won't be bad since I've been waiting for other ones as well. Hope I'm allowed to post here with these two pros in my way. XD

Oh don't worry, I'm not a pro either XD(from the game to the language). I still watched the raws since I can somehow understand what they're saying. Only problem is that I can't express them in words At times, I wonder why they called it 'School Days'...the game/anime doesn't seem to fit the title >.< @DA, and yer more than welcome here. Ever since the beginning, everytime I post an anime from a h-game or something. the only ones doing the chatting is usually me and Izumo. it's nice getting some new faces around sometimes |

I thought of the anime, "Elfen Lied", since it had gruesome scenes (game) as I read before. I guess if I can find a site that has ddL, I'll dL the first episode. What site did you use (regardless of ddL/torrent)?

for subs, Baka-updates and AnimeSuki. for RAWS, Saya-man, Tokyo Toshokan and l33t-raws. you might want to use Winny to download raws too. most of them are torrent sites, exept for Winny |

Of course there are more characters that in the game Makoto can choose to ummm..."screw" & has some baring on the endings. Getting back to the subject with Makoto....yes i agree that Rin & Takayuki are much more manly....the quote you mentioned was close enough. There are more useless things Makoto says that i have to go back to the game for reference. I have to install it again....the game is HUGE! Since i bought a new external drive i can install it again. Anyways i'll find some more quotes from him that'll make you wanna kick his @$$! I'm hoping for the knife ending....i usually don't get frustrated with characters but this one i can live with. *side note* Nursery Rhyme would be a nice anime....though the plot is a little generic....the OP & ED by Saori Sakura is really catchy. I made a playlist of some of her songs on my Imeem profile. I uploaded a few of her stuff as well. Feel free to take a listen. I'm already eagerly awaiting other series based on H-games...like the ones on my sig & on my profile (which by the way is up again). |

@Izumo- I'd be elated if they uses the 'Knife ending'. I'm not sure how to react if they actually decided to use the 'Harem ending'...Cause Makoto don't deserve it!!. I suddenly remembered Sekai saying that Makoto is quite popular with the girls in the first episode when I thought about the 'Harem ending'. Hmm.... Oh yea, are they using the same OP and ED theme from the game as well? @DA I'm currently waiting for the second episode, which will be aired in a few days, now how is this development going to go... |

Yeah....i hope they use the knife ending as well....the dumbass deserved it! Also they could use the "cellphone" ending....after ****** died Makoto breaks up with ***** & is forever alone! Though i did sympaphize with him there a little. Personally my fave is "I love you"....that scene is beautifully made & has this warm fuzzy feeling to it. Most of the good endings have that feeling to them...which is why the bad endings are the way they are...kinda like the opposite effect to the happy warm feeling of the good ones. Getting back to Makoto....at first he isn't such a bad guy....your typical student. It isn't until he develops a crush on Kotonoha & his friend Sekai trying to help him hiding feelings of her own. Kinda like Mitsuki in Kiminozo hiding hers to help Haruka. Anyways when Sekai expresses her love for him....he is unable to choose who he wants....that indecisiveness during the game is what makes him so frustrating. He kinda plays around with both Kotonoha s & Sekai's feelings....a typical guy thinking only about "SEX!!!". Anyways like Neko-san said the first episode is almost exactly like the Op of the OVA (game intro)....so far the OP by DeviceHigh isn't heard yet (probably be in episode 2) but i heard a short sample of it & it's pretty good. Still i like the game intro "still i love you" a bit more. The end theme is by CooRie called "Usotsuki". It has a nice melody to it. The game end theme by Minami Kuribayashi is not used. Though in most series based on visual novels the Game OP & ED will probably be used in the last episode. |

I liked the first episode. I'm not that informed on the Game, let alone this OVA I read about here, but I'll be waiting for the second episode as well. ^_^;

2nd episode is out....& a couple of subbers are doing the series. One of them is AniYoshi. The OP is alright...i still would've liked the song "still i Love you" used but that may still be a possibility for the last episode. Anyways the 2nd episode has some ecchiness in it...as does the OP sequence....some nekkidness. Still i'll get the CD....also in the works that i've heard is a vocal collection with new songs from Yozuca, rino, & Yuria....who also contributed to the game OST. Unless it is a re-release of the original vocal collection. The episode is almost identical to the game....down to Kotonoha slapping Makoto (see what i tell you...a typical guy thinking all about SEX!)...also the note exchanging is EXACTLY the same...even down to Sekai being scolded by the teacher. Looks like the series is so far pretty accurate to the original game....i'm having really high hopes for it. Still thinking about the possible endings has me on edge. |

Hey no worries DA ^___^. You don't really need any knowledge of the game to enjoy the series. I'm just pointing out the similarites & differences for those who may be curious. The game when it came out had little fanfare....it's not until that the players actually get the endings that word of mouth spread. The creators "Overflow" guess decided to make the game different. Like expect the unexpected.....it paid off for them as Schooldays became a huge hit in japan & was one of the highest selling games for that year. Most series based on 'visual novels' you don't need to have played the game....it just the creators banking on a successful series. Most of them have quality stories & memorable characters that for fans it's a wish come true & for non-fans just another high-quality anime series worth watching. So just enjoy the series for what it is....don't let all the game talk discourage you. That's what i do when i watch anime....even if i played it...i still enjoy it for what it is. I just get giddy of seeing some of my fave characters come to life...that's all. |

That should be no problem at all since I practically have never gotten into playing anime games that later get turned into anime. T-T I'm still waiting for my sub group to release episode two, although I might use another group since Paika-fansub or whatever, had this crazy font. Haha, I could read it, but "arial" or something default would be fine for me. :3

So you don't have to worry about not being knowledgeable^^ I haven't seen the second episode yet, since I'm currently downloading it(was sleeping the whole day XD, so i just woke up...man the bath was freezing...). I downloaded AniYosh's, pretty decent, so I decided to with this one... |

Watching the second episode. He's reading a...love manual!? And....read a porn magazine during their first date!? He didn't even spend much attention on Kotohana. Well. if you don't hate Makoto in the first episode...you'll do now! edit:i kinda applauded when Kotohana gives Makoto that really loud slap XD |
