im sure that some of our favorite anime took a while to get good but some anime are good from start to finish (or ongoing anime). so in your opinion which anime you've watched had the best first episode? for me its elfen lied. i love action and blood and the first 5-10 min of episode 1 didnt cut short on either

Hmmm....that's a really good question! I loved that first episode too! Also, I'd have to say the first episode of Maburaho. I always did love a good comedy and innuendo. Right from the into you look at Kazuki and think, what a loser! But it's just far too funny to ever stop watching. ^_~  |

| I think Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou has the best first episode...it's just appealing...making me want more of it. |

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuustu (chronological order) makes me watch the entire series TWICE (chronological and non-chronological) in ONE day

Hmm, good question! You're right about that...some first episodes are just boring >.> Best first episode... I liked the first episode of Avenger. =] And Ginban Kaleidoscope xDD it was just HILARIOUS and I almost got a stomachache laughing. :P yep, I would say Ginban kaleidoscope. :) |

From my opinion, because I kinda like anime with musical reference, I choose Nodame Cantabile and Ouran for its comedy

Suzumiya Haruhi... Anyone would be astonished with that "first" episode... Well, some think that first episode is crap, but it sure gave me a good laugh XD Then Claymore. totally got me hooked from the first episode... |

First episode of Gundam Seed got me hooked on the series. Also, the first episode of Vision of Escaflowne, the dragon fight was great.    |

Haha, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu for me. Yeah, the "random" order was great. At first I skipped the movie to the part where they were talking in the classroom. It was like "love at first site" with Suzumiya Haruhi-san. I kept watching and obviously I love the series... and Suzumiya Haruhi. ^_~` Also, I'd have to say the first episode of Maburaho. I think I could add Maburaho, too. Although I didn't think Kazuki was a loser, just lucky as hell. >XD Bought the box set yesterday, now I can love it all over again. :3

suzumiya haruhi does have one of the best first episode ever^^ kyon's narrative indeed was captivating!(maybe bcoz his seiyuu is good?hehe) hmm...there are lots of first eps that juz kept me hooked straight away eg naruto, FMA, honey and clover (moritaaaaa~~) and oh yes, Mushishi!i really3 like the first ep!make me go 'wow' so much^^ |

I agree. Elfen Lied has one of the best first episodes. I mean come on, the first thing u see is a severed human hand. If that doesn't say "Im a badass anime", I dont know what does.   |
