I heard they need to make many many panels of anime pictures. then they scan through the play machine or whatever and play it. Also I heard animators use something like 'Maya' or 'Maia' (whatever how it spelled) to edit or add more detail to the animation.

I love anime. I live anime. Do you anime?

Yes, in order to make a 30 min long anime they need to draw 1000' of picture. And those picture are mostly colored with HUMAN HAND (they pay you like 500 yen a hr to go this, which one can get as a part time job).

I m pretty sure Maya is a 3-D drawing program. So, it might be able to make animes like South park or Zoid, but probaly not Naruto

Yep.. Long work that is.. But the end justifies all the effort put through. Yep. And Maya is a 3-D drawong programme. I really want to learn it. [but this is prolly off topic...] Maya's the one that they used to draw Gollum in Lord of the Rings...

oh my goodness, one anime episode uses up 1000+++ drawings?
i will now appreciate anime even more. especially those ultra-colourful ones like galaxy angels.

life sucks.... only when you're a vacuum...

Hmmm..I think some animators now use a program that minimizes the use of hand-drawn drawings. But I'm not that sure if they use that on anime.

Yeah, I am thinking of trying to become a manga-ka. Unfortunately I don't know of any manga schools in America. :( Are there any classes I can take to help me improve my manga?

There is an episode of Paranoia agent that I think portrays a good example of the anime business.

If you can make sense of End of Evangelion's last episode then your a f**king genius

Another is Goldenboy #6 when Kintaro takes a job at an animation studio...

I took a year of animation school here in Vancouver (canada) and believe me once you know what these artists do you'll appreciate the time and effort it takes to create anime/cartoon for that matter.

Alot of animators basically live in the studio....cause every episode has a deadline to make...and if one person is not doing there job...well things are screwed.A few big name studios can afford the gorgeous/sharp animation (Ghibli,Sunrise,Madhouse,Toei...etc) while others are not as fortunate.

Most anime is done on paper by hand and each person has their own jobs....but some can be done on PC or Mac....Love Hina was done on computers...some Gundam SEED animation is also done on computers. The majority of the animation gets shipped to Korea and is done there...mostly the inbetween jobs.

All this hard work and dedication is done to make YOU the watcher feel like you're in another world....and for that i applaud their efforts.

To Morilinde :)

Currently i'm becoming a manga-ka too.My advice is try to get your work out to the public where they can see it....so a website is a good place to start. If you have no schools then be self taught...some manga artists learn that way....right now i don't have one off the top of my head...oh wait...Carnelian is one.You can take art classes to improve your art...i took perspective and life drawing. All in all if you truly believe this is what you wanna do then go for it....hard work and dedication will pay off in the long run ^^Good luck!!!!
