anime crushes??

are there lots of people who have anime crushes? because i dont find this right. is it alright for people to love anime characters more than people who are real? i mean...anime characters arent real!!! you can tell me your opinions, but DO NOT swear at me ok? it's just a thought

Yes there are people like that. But it doesn't concern you if they like the character more than a certain person.. they have their own personal reasons. People also get inspired in life because of their favorite anime characters. But you're right, we all have different opinions and ideas. For some, its not a bad thing to love anime characters. But I don't think there are LOTS of people who "LOVE" characters more than "Real" people.. :) Cheers.    |

i im not gonna lie i do have some anime crushes like Mai Valentine, Faye Valentine, Kaoru Kamiya and so fourth but its not like im obsessed over them and like them over real girls. I just would like to be the lucky man if i can, to date all of them lol ^^  Part of the new age Gendou RP veterans: Kira, Rukia, KM Revolution, Smoker, Avian, L, and Ryu. |

To me, it doesn't really matter, although I do find it a bit strange. Maybe more then I'm trying to say here at least. I can say I fell in love with anime characters before. Characters like Haruhi Suzumiya or Kaname Chidori of FMP (series). But, I do not replace them with reality, even though I love them so much. I don't think you should be pointing any fingers here. Nobody has the right to tell someone who they can and can't love. Personally, I'd say "who cares", 'cause I don't really care. There are bigger things to worry or criticize in life, then to talk about someone, most likely someone you don't even know. Just grab a hotdog, turn on the TV or something, and let it go. I will say this. People who choose this path over reality, love three groups of people (I think), but are too stubborn or foolish to understand. They love the artist(s) who drew their figures (emotions, appearance, etc.), the director/animation director(s) who made them "real" (move, act, etc.), and the seiyu(s)/US voice actors/actresses who really grabbed your attentions.

Well , Kuroineko , you can call those people who love 'the girl/boy in the other world' as otakus too (I'm oficially an otaku too ^^) . But to be honest , it's really up to them to decide , not us 'cause you aren't in their place when they're still a child . They like these 'imaginary' people because they like them (I LOVE Belldandy , but that does not mean I can marry her or whatsoever ,after all , she got Morisato Keiichi *NO~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~*) What DA says is right ^^ . You cant tell them 'you can't like that!' or 'NO , you're not allowed to be with that' . What they're doing is that they're turning your life into theirs , and I'm sure you don't want to be their 'clone' , right ? We humans are given the right to decide what they want to be and what they don't want to be , so that we are given the chance to create your own self in the world , a unique person which differs from others . Even it is right or wrong , it's really up to us to change it with our own will , but not from anyone else or something else (you know what is it) When we love anime characters , these also could mean we are trying to be ourself but not like the others do . For example , if your friend of yours (IF , not real , kya ^^ ?) who loves beautiful girls , tells you that you can't love a girl who are smart but you MUST love beautiful girls . Would you ? Since you like smart girls more than beautiful girls 'cause you believe that most beautiful girls are not good mothers ? (No offense here , just trying giving a example only) Come on , we're not androids . And if we were , we can't decompose like living things do , but we rust ! |

Oh my gosh! One of my friends used to get crushes on anime and video game characters. It was really weird, but at the same time....incredibly funny!!! I never understood it. I've never had a crush like that.  |

I believe I've seen a similar thread before, but the question in that thread was different, so I'll have my say. Like DA said, you can't go around telling people what to do and what not to do. Sure, people having crushes at "unreal" people might seem strange to you, but stopping them from doing it, aside from being "wrong", isn't easy, so don't even try :P For me myself, I've never really "crushed" on anime characters, but I used to have some obsessions over characters :3   |

well i get obsessed over anime characters, but i wouldnt go as far as thinking about them day and night (and i know people that actually do that!). i mean, i know they arent real so i just like them the way you like... um... stuff. (im really bad at explaining what im thinking, so please forgive me >.<) |

No worries, I sorta understand what you mean. I know the difference between liking a real person and an anime character, now that I've experienced both. But then, I didn't really have crush at an anime character like how I used to have a crush at a real person... (wonder if anyone gets my point...) |

theres nothing wrong with having a crush on and anime character, i know lots of people that do and i myself kinda do, its not so much a crush as just thinking they look hot and wish they were real lol    |

There's nothing 'wrong' about it! It's not OUR fault that real people don't quite cut it! I have a lot of crushes! I'd name them all, but it would take too long. So many bishounen... A couple days ago, I was at a party with my best friend, and we were watching the first couple of episodes of Bleach. Every time the intro came on, I'd point at Ishida every time he appeared, and exclaimed, "Uryuu!" That annoyed the hell out of them, let me tell you that! If they were real, however, I might want to do... illegal, perverted things to them. So, all in all, it's BETTER than they stay on the screen, or there would be a LOT more hentai, wouldn't there? I was a person back then. I could smile and laugh and... feel. All the colors... all the hurt... all the laughing... it all went away. All of them. They used words like brain damage... and cerebral trauma. But even then I understood. I was safe... safe from the bad thing. |

I mean, there are some "cool" anime characters out there who make fans swoon, but "marrying" them is just, well, too much (for a lack of a better word ^_^;) |

I know I can't reach out and touch an anime character, and I know that if I fall in love, it will only hurt me. I think it's best to treat anime characters like really good friends. Really good friends whom you've found out about their secrets. I do actually tend to think of my favorite chars as actual people who exist (which they do... in a way), but I get inspired more than feel urges to love them. I don't really know how to describe it; when they hurt, I feel the hurt; when they are happy, I can't help but feel happy too. I feel this as if my closest friends get hurt or are happy. ... to be perfectly honest, I've never really fallen in love yet, so it would be bad if an anime character was my first. 0.0 |

To answer this question honestly was difficult for me. I hope you understand. First off, I agree with DA and asd... You can't really tell a person who not to love and who they can love... but onto my point of view. I can honestly say that I've had a deep love for an anime character, and not just a simple crush. Looking back on it now, I probably blame my position in life, though I would never take back what I just said. I feel like loving an anime character, and love in real life, are dual comparisons... It's like reading two books. One story is fiction, while the other is entirely non-fiction... and I can't help but love them both. It's kind of strange, and I don't exactly know how to word it. You will never find a real guy/girl as perfectly ideal as a character from an anime that you have crushed on. That's what I feel, therefore, once in a while and for a while, I tend to love certain characters more than I should. Sometimes, I just need that reality break... |

Ya it's a bit strange but i confess i've already had crushes on anime characters. I'ts not like i fanatise over them or anything i juss like think that there cute, i don't compare real ppl to anime but it's fun to imagine finding someone juss like them. But whoever's really in love with a character i guess it's ther choice who they wanna love it dosen't really affect me in any way.

yay liking is different from loving ^.^ liking is ok but loving yay not ryt.. they dont really exist i min they are not real so how can we posibly be happy if we luv them ^.^ we really cant marry them xD
