I have played many kinds of games before. Most are Role-Playing games but one thing about RPGs is that many of them are about saving the world which seems rather generic. The best story, from the games that I have played, would be Odin Sphere because its story has a wide variety of plot twists and has a factor of unpredictability. Of course, that is my personal opinion. I'm looking for games that has a good story. What game do you think has the best story line?

best storyline hmmm this one's tough...although i enjoyed most of the rpg's ive played, i never got the epic feel i felt playing suikoden...so yeah i go for suikoden 1 and 2 though its a bit generic...its still good to me also metal gear solid gotta love that game... hmmm ff8 is a good anime like story too ff7 another good anime like story |

| I understand you completely but for me it has to be final fantasy 9, possibly one of my favourite storylines my second favourite would have to be Tales of symphonia (although in this case it was rather confusing) |

For me. . . well it's kind of hard to choose. I'll just list my favorite 5. [No particular order.] Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 Final Fantasy VII Legend of Dragoon (Okay, so it is generic in today's view, but I still really enjoyed it.) Metal Gear Solid (Always a good story. . . except for Sons of Liberty, but I try to ignore that games very existence.) Star Ocean    |

Ephemeral Phantasia - it's storyline RPG is QUITE unique compared to the usual RPG games I've played, which are many. Okage - It's about a shadow king taking over a boy's shadow, quite odd looking, but storyline is definitely interesting.  |

Personally Xenogears - biblical...at times controversial..almost never made it to North American shores...1st disc was a masterpiece...2nd a little linear but still the BEST game i've ever played!!!!! Final Fantasy 4 & 6 - RPG classics that shouldn't be missed Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross - time travel & dimensional shifts what more do you want Valkyrie Profile (Silmeria & Lenneth) - if you like Norse myth you'll love this game Odin's Sphere - 5 character's stories intertwine into 1...one of the best i've played this year. Nippon Icchi games (Disgaea, Phantom Brave, etc.) - Funny, well written, deep engaging, doesn't take itself seriously  |

erk... most of the game story lines I liked are that of teh RPG's I've played... here are some of the recents: Summon Night 1 and 2 Golden Sun 1 and 2 Final Fantast VII Valkyrie Profile Final Fantasy: The Crystal Chronicles Final Fantasy: Tactics Advance Kingdom Hearts 2???lol

I have to Hand it to Shadow Of The Colossus. why? Your saving your love it's a selfish reason but so far it's very different from games today. I just love the way they came up with he plot you fight all those moving mountains you get through all the obstacles and in the end... ...well your just going to have to play it. x]   |

usually strategy game has a good story line i think Warcraft has the best storyline especially warcraf3: reign of chaos and Warcraft 3 :frozen throne. the story is very great, even the stoty continues to the world of warcraft. the start is a little bit shoking and the end remains mysterious  |

Tales of Destiny 1 & 2 (not Eternia) Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time Suikoden 2 & 3 (4 is utterly boring, mind you) La Pucelle & Disgaea (strategic rpg)
Tales of Destiny and Gakuen Arisu rock may world, aye!!!

I'll go the with the road less traveled and say an American game...Bioshock. I'm fine with RPGs, but I think Bioshock has the most innovative storyline and a well-developed history that is found in the various audio diaries spread throughout the game. Ace Attorney (Capcom) and Kingdom Hearts (Square Enix?) are probably my next best choices. |

The "best" story line i would have to say is more a result of a synergistic effect between character development and plot development... That said, Venus&Braves by far has the most emotionally charged story I've ever encountered in a game. There's not many that can drop you into the bowels of despair and sorrow, raise you up to a sensation of exaltation, and finish off with a light, upbeat ending. |
