Converting .avi files to .rm files

Hi all

I want to convert some anime episodes from .avi format to a smaller .rm format

Does anyone know of any nice programs to do this. None of the trial programs are worthwhile.

Any help would be great.

if you are looking to save space, you should be using DivX. with it, you can reduce the bitrate substantially while preserving quality more so than with RealPlayer.

One more question though, i got DivX player. Can i use that to reduce the bitrate on avi. files? If so, how does one do that? Had a look at the player but couldnt find anything.

Is it by any chance you want to upload the video to your phone?

My friend always used "Nokia converter" of something. Convert 120MB .avi files to 20MB+ .rm and save it to his phone.

No I dont wanna put anime onto phone. But that would be very cool.

Want to free up some disk space. Just wanna know how to compress the .avi files into something else (for example .rm or .rmvb).

It's not urgent, but if anybody has any advice, I will gladly send some electronic hugs and kisses as payment.

I always used Easy Real Media Producer, and it has given me outstanding results. For example, I made a 27.7 Mb file from a 170+ Mb AVI. It's so cool... :D

And it's free, too.
