I'm fine with blood and stuff and Dokuro-chan does have a boy being bashed to bits with a iron club.. Although you never see the seperate body bits. |

well prepare for more gory then, real body part being torn, deep plot, great story, but nudity (no sex), blood everywhere (not the one for funny stuff, but for murder well for me this anime is an epic, really great plot and story, real touching but if you can't handle that, well, then don't |

Dokuro-chan and HTF are more of sadistic happy kiddies. Elfen Lied is waaay deeper than that. It's not about the gore. It's about the plot. ;) m y . L i F E . i . t r a d e . i n . f o r . y o u r . P A i N . |

Personally some people get to worked up with violence in anything animated. Most violence in animation is over the top/farfetched & Elfen Lied is no exception. I agree that someone who is young may find the things shown in the anime maybe to scary or gross & for that i suggest waiting to see it when you are older. At least in your teens. However nowadays kids these days are subject to so much violence in TV all to often which are NOT animated. If you can handle all the real-life violence than anything animated is nothing. Most young people in this day in age have become decensitized to anything violent that seeing animated blood or decapitation is childs play. It is so much different 10-20 years ago where something like Elfen Lied probably wouldn't have made it mainstream. Besides most of the violence in Elfen Lied is SO over the top that it is often more funny than shocking. All the violence in the show is just a minor part of the overall plot which is the main selling point of the series. So watch it for the story, characters rather than for the gratious nudity & violence. |

i don't think elfen lied is bad... well! it being gory is one nice thing about it.. actually I like watching bloody animes and i count elfen lied in... besides there's the story though i don't like its ending... i was expecting more.. :) |

If you can handle HTF then you can handle this, minus laughing. But it's a matter of a deep storyline that might bore you if you don't get it... But if you just want to test how far can you resist vomiting over gory stuffs, go ahead and watch it, it'll be quite an experience for you :D |

They say you have to be 18+ since this is a rated "R" type anime, but... I saw it way before hand. D: It is true what people already have stated here from their own personal experiences. There is a storyline and there is a plot and it is one of the best anime of its genre for sure. Truthfully, to me the nudity was like a side dish that you would choose to eat cause it really had no effect on the anime whatsoever. I mean this is no fanservice of an anime unless you like to see internal organs and how they get torn from tissue to tissue. >;3 Although I have to say, Lucy does have a pretty nice body. ^_~` From my opinion, you can watch whatever you want, but I strongly agree with K.M.Revolution's words. Your own actions are your own responsibilities... or something like that. [sidenote] Haven't finished Dokuro-chan but it has nothing on Elfen Lied. Just more comedy. ------- |

well for me i got too absorbed by the storyline so i don't really pay attention to the gory stuff, overal higurashi no nakukoro ni is more gory for me if you want to watch elfen lied tried watching animes like evangelion, if you're not bored with the storyline which hard to understand for young audience then by all means go watch elfen lied, as everyone mention before the beauty in elfen lied lies in its plot

It ain't Happy Tree Friends, that's for sure. Elfen Lied is psychologically deep and disturbing and will confuse you if you don't understand. And yes, you do see body parts fly. I believe about 20 people died in the first five minutes alone? Yeah. I watched it when I was 13 and I understood it. But then again, I don't usually watch gore and I concentrate more on the plot than the gore. Oh yeah, have your young innocent eyes been exposed to nudity at any point? If not, you might want to watch out. Elfen Lied isn't just rated M for blood; there's a whole lot of naked girl in each episode. |

Yup,buds' right.I've watched it,and even rated it "Highly unsuitable for little kids".Gores, ecchi(or nudity if you ask me ;P) and stuffs....Seriously,this anime isn't suitable for kids.I'm not going to stop you from watching it,but from the sound of it,I REALLY don't recommend watching it if you're not mentally prepared. You've been warned, bud.
