Once, I watched Vietnamese dramas for like, an entire day with some girl friends.
All we did was watch and like, get all sentimental and stuffs. DDD:
It was weird at first being the only guy around pretty girls watching pretty girls, but hey, what can I say? ^_~`

I've seen some Korean ones with some Korean friends and a few Japanese/Chinese ones with Vietnamese subs.
Dramas can get you so close to your girl friends. =^-^=

About other asian music, I haven't explored that much away from Japan except for female Korean J-Pop.
Actually, I only listen to BoA sometimes, and mostly everything else is Youhna and MEILIN. ♥♥♥

Vietnamese music is the s********t! Not much into the classical singing although the singers are very beautiful and their voices are so pure.
I like techno, trance, and electronica type Vietnamese music. It's so catchy, especially when driving at night around NY or Philadelphia.
Mostly all Vietnamese families watch those concerts of Vietnamese singers.
They dress really well and the singing is like, perfect, seriously.

I like the Korean movies and drama, not to mention Manhwa. I also like to read a lot about South-East Asia, especially Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I plan to visit these places at least once in my life. But only after Japan, though ^_^.

Well...I'm Asian and I think some of the Chinese singers are blah.

I heard from my friends that Fahrenheit is good, but some others tell me Fahrenheit sells with their looks and not with their voices. The older people of my family like Hokkien songs, and if you're looking for old Chinese songs try Teresa Tang/Deng (邓丽君) Han Yu Pin Yin-> Deng4 Li4 Jun1)

Korean songs are rather nice, for example one of Princess Hours' (Goong) songs, Perhaps Love, by Howl. Princess Hours is a Korean drama thingy. It's such a super nice show and Shin is teh smex! (drool)

My mom likes Tohoshinki/TVSQ. :D

I don't know much about Fahrenheit, but they're said to be the second best boy pop group in Taiwan.

Ironic I'm posting here, but I was checking out other asian versions of Numa Numa last night, lol.

I like manhwa...
I'm Chinese (half, anyways, and am fluent), and I don't know why, but singers with Taiwanwese accents bother me... I haven't really watched or listened to anything beside Japanese stuff, although I would like to go to Taiwan or China. It would be nice to actually understand people in a foreign country for once. My Grandpa says maybe he'll take me sometime.

I've partially been raised by a Chinese family, so I've seen/hered alot of Chinese films/music.
I'm not a great fan of the music but I like alot of the films. Mainly the new martial arts ones like, "House of Flying Daggers", "Hero", "Curse of the Golden Flower" and so on.

Korean drama is awesome (ex: Goong, based on the manhwa). Some Korean manhwa are on par with Japanese manga.

Mainland Chinese drama is VERY serious and "life-experience", nothing like the light-hearted romances and comedies of Tawanese drama.....
Most of Mainland Chinese tv series are either about historic alevents, the life biography of some old couple or ancient China fantasy stories (those are disappearing now...although they wer the only thing I could tolerate....If you liked Juuni Kokki/12 kingdoms, know it is based on ancient Chinese culture)

Jinyong's novels are really good. Some of them have more original storyline than shounen mangas... The equivalent of Tolkien in Chinese wuxia literature (equivalent of heroic fantasy but with martial art and in ancient China)

Japanese drama and tokusatsu is awesome (I'm a Kamen Rider fan)

Mainland Chinese and Tawanese music is 95% bad (with some talented exceptions) They lack originality and are monotone and too conservative... K-Pop is all about the dance and the beat (much much better)!!! Japanese pop and rock music is the most varied and original...EVERYTHING Japanese sounds good to me, from enka to Visual-Kei.....

And yes, Teresa Teng is the nostalgic icon across all asia at her time, without great popularities especially in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan at that time....Some of her songs are basically enka....

Vietnamese dramas are actually starting to become good from what my Vietnamese friends tell me.....

They all have very distinct cultures.

The branch term Asian is too stereotypical.

If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.

yep, I love Manhwa (though I can't say I've read much lately) I haven't had a chance to check out any Korean dramas but I plan to. But I can say I love Bollywood films and Indian music. As for Chinese music, I like Sung Zuying's songs and that's about all I know about it.

pump~pumpkin pumpkiiin~! Bounen no Xam'd, watch it now!
