Finished it about 12 times and managed to do everything possible even the queen of cards quest. I even beat omega weapon without having to use heros or refining my Laguna card. The game is awesome. I recently bought a new copy (I had an original copy, with the pictures printed on the disks but they're a bit overused now) it only cost me £10. I got vagrant story for the same as well, brand new. |

Unless you got a pocketsattion memory card you won't get the friendship item or the mog amulet. If you get em it allows you to summon the moomba and moogle respectively. |

I'm still waiting for square to give in to us gamers demands and do a proper remake of 7. But 8 would be seriously awesome if they remade it. Then agin, so would nine. Judging by what they managed with the rereleases of the pre playstation ffs, the possibilities for the PS3 are endless. |

@ Gen-san I thought that the characters from FF 13 are all original characters....i do know that Tetsuya Nomura-san when designing 'Lightning' that he wanted to make a female 'Cloud'. I don't think Cloud is in the game at all. *********************************************************** As for FF VIII...yeah a remake with updated graphics would be sweet. Since they are re-releasing so many FF titles (FF 1, 2, 3, 4) & Crisis Core is sort like FF 7 in a ways, maybe in the near future Squenix will finally succumb to the demand of remaking other FF games. The only thing that bothered me about FF 8 is that occasionally the battle tend to drag on, like some of the stronger enemies take forever to kill. Also a complaint by many is seeing the long summon sequences over & over & over again. The 1st time you see it, it is like WOW!! however when you see it for the 100th time it tends to get boring. Still cool though. Also the final boss music (the Extreme) when you fight Edea is one of the best boss music in any FF game. Personally i still think Zeromus from FF 4 is the BEST!! but Edea's is a close 2nd. I still have my original copy i bought when it first came out...i tend to keep good care of my items. |

Re: Final Fantasy VIII

FF7,8,and 9 are all nice... though i like ff7 better... i hope ff13 will be great game too... ff8's game speed is a bit slow in my opinion... i hope square enix will remake it with faster gaming speed ....

@izumo yeah seeing doom train for the first time is nice...but watching him again and again...is too much...but doesnt the long summon mean stronger boost? by i barely use summons in ff8 (im more of a limit user,i leave squall's hp to yellow and keep pressing circle for the limit to appear) yeah battles tend to drag on if you want to get that 100 flare magic or something...but overall i really enjoyed the junctioning system (even better than the materia system IMO) by far this is second only to the job system of FFV(my favorite) it has great BGM as well...my fave is the boss music and laguna's battle music ^^ a remake with new gfs,new skills, stronger and more enemies in battle( only one RED DRAGON?!) would be very cool indeed |

your thoughts about ff8 ^^ what about the story? did you guys think the love story between squall and rinoa was a bit rushed? i mean they met at a dance, squall saved her a couple of times...then BOOM love! what about the seifer x rinoa x squall love triangle? it was never really emphasized ..and seifer's ambition to be a knight? what was that all about? |

I guess that is the reason for the often long animation sequences for some of the summons is cause of the 'boost' function. Still it gets old pretty quick. I'm more of a well-rounded player when it comes to RPGs. I use summons, magic, or limits when they are convient to use. I try to max out the characters stats & finding every single item when i play. When i have to rely on a specific method to kill an enemy i will do so. For example when fighting Omega Weapon...you have to rely on Squall's Lionheart to kill it or it would take forever & you'll probably die often. I hated to do some but you have to refine some of your rare cards for items. like the one that makes you invincible for a period of time, & the one that causes you to use limits more often. Unless you use cheats there is no easy way to kill Omega. And whoever says it is easy is lying. About your questions Z-san...Yeah the love story in the game could've used more editing but it didn't distract from the game...it was like it was THERE. I thought the Laguna & Julia (that was her name right?..been so long) story was better. Well some girls do fall for guys that save them multiple times...they have to be pretty cold not to be appreciative. As for the love triangle. I never really thought there was one. Rinoa probably admired Seifer but i don't think love was ever there. Seifer probably never had any feelings as well. Seifer enjoys fighting, the Knight thing i think was the dream he wanted to tell Squall very early in the game...the field mission. Every man wants to protect something...i guess Seifer is no different. Squall was more machine-like than Cloud but being around Rinoa made him open up more, making him think it is ok to rely on others. |
