Sort by Song Genre in the MS > DLs section?

| I was wondering why the admin won't add a sort of sort by > genre to the downloads section of the site? It would be nice if they have that criteria so that people who make random picks (like me~ heehee) would know what kind of song that'll be... |

You know, I've been wondering about the same thing. I have to remember the names of my favorite bands so that I can search them by artist name. It'd be far easier to just search by genre, wouldn't it?  --> |

Ok, I will add this feature, on one condition. The condition is that you both go download each of the 4,687 songs. Listen to them all one by one, recording a genre for each. Then, argue until you have both come to an agreement on the genre label for all songs. Finally, send me the list as comma separated values with the song ID in the first column, and the genre label in the second column. I will import that into the database and edit the template of the music page to allow searching and sorting on genre.

Sorry I asked O_o. However, it's a good idea. I'd like to propose some changes to it. First,Gendou-san puts up an announcement telling everyone about this new feature being added. Second, we ask our beloved Gendouites to listen to the songs they've downloaded and think of the genre that best suits the song. For help, we may even throw in some genres and what they mean in the announcement. Third, we ask the aforementioned Gendouites to mail us with their genres. Fourth, we edit the list, and send it to Gendou-san or the mods. They debate on its veracity, and put it up. How does this sound? --> |

Not necessarily. If we limit user contributions to one per user, I think we'll be OK. Besides, it'll introduce a sense of unity in the whole forum. --> |
