First of all, much thanks to Gendou for allowing me to do my survey here. Also, please do not spam this thread. I am Amelia from Taylor’s University College Main Campus, Malaysia. This survey I am conducting is part of my social science course and the topic of research (same-sex/homosexual marriage) may be an uncomfortable topic to you. Your response will be utilized to help me draw my own conclusion on the subject of research and I will inform you of the end result of the research as soon as possible. Please copy-paste the survey and bold your answer of choice. Also, please leave your e-mail address and country of origin at the end of the survey as proof that you have done the survey (and not me). Note: Link and Key (and whoever else who thinks so), my first question draft had more open-response questions, but my lecturer said it would give me a lot of work to analyze the responses, so I think that's why it looks biased. ^^; Survey Questions Gender: Male / Female 1. Do you support homosexual/same-sex rights? Yes / No 2. Would you befriend a homosexual person? Yes (go to question 3) / No (go to question 4) 3. If yes, why? (choose only one response) a. They should not be treated any differently just because they like someone their own gender. b. I believe that humans are allowed to like anyone, be it of the same or opposite gender. c. No particular reason, but they are my friends. 4. If no, why? (choose only one response) a. They are not ‘normal’ since they like someone their gender. b. I feel that they are ‘odd’. c. I prefer to not have anything to do with them. 5. Do you agree with/support homosexual/same-sex marriage? Yes (go to question 6) / No (go to question 7) 6. If yes, why? (choose only one response) a. Arguments against same-sex marriage are arguments against homosexuality in general and is a useless argument to be had in the first place. b. I believe that they should be allowed to marry even though they are of the same gender. c. There’s nothing wrong with it. 7. If no, why? (choose only one response) a. It’s not ‘right’ (marriage should be a male-female thing). b. Same-sex marriage destroys the institution of marriage. c. My religion is against it. 8. Are legal debates necessary to determine if same-sex marriage is allowed in all countries? Yes / No 9. Homosexual/same-sex couples cannot ask for a religious organization to recognize their marriage. Do you agree? Yes / No 10. “The media can influence society’s opinion on homosexual rights and same-sex marriage.†Agree / Disagree 11. Do you think that repeated exposure of homosexuality in the media to nontraditional families can cause people to be more accepting of them in everyday life? Yes / No 12. “More people are supporting homosexual rights as individuals, but become disgusted at the thought of two people of the same gender getting married.†Agree / Disagree 13. “Same-sex marriage should be banned.†Agree / Disagree 14. Should society continue discriminating homosexual people just because they’re ‘different’? Yes / No 15. Will you join any movement to increase understanding of homosexual rights (this includes same-sex marriage)? Yes / No Thank you for your time.
