I think you'd call that CG. Same with Advent Children, somehow it doesn't really go into my books as 'anime'.

| To be exact , it's a CG animated , and it really has NO relationship with anime whatsoever . Because anime are usually in 2D instead of 3D (Appleseed is one of few 3D animes out there , and Final Fantasy : The Spirit Within and Advent Children are not) |

well anime,traditionally is done with 2d hand drawn animation,but now CGI is widely accepted..right plus its an animation produced by Japanese Producers for the Japanese Market, so i think it can be called an anime.. |

i didn't particuarly like the spirits within..but i haven't watched it in a while. but advent children was pretty sweet. the bit with the fight at the end is going through my mind where every1 helps cloud into the sky. amazzzzin

to be exact spirit within is suit as movie genre, it's not suit to called it anime, since it's the same as toy story and that whole bunch, monster.inc, etc, etc. but of course in different level of making the stuff.

DN well it might also be true since the cast and all the model belong to american, but it's square that make the movie and because of the film, square suffered heavy lost. well the japanese one is the main heroine... that dr.aki girl well if you look at it, the story itself is not bad, but since all the people see it with the thought of FF they disappointed to find the movie rather dull in the story, and with much of future sci-fi... all FF except FFVII based on medieval timeline (sseing that time they only have till FFIX) but i think that film have better visual effect than in advent children...
