Final Fantasy IX - Show it some Love!

I looked around and couldn't find a forum for Final Fantasy IX, but I saw ones for other FF games - so I decided to make a thread to support FFIX, my favorite Final Fantasy and my favorite game above ALL others - and I mean above every single game, and maybe BARELY over Chrono Cross. In Final Fantasy IX, the last FF on the Playstation 1, FF Fans get drawn back into their roots -- as FF9 takes us back to the old-school look of the FF Games. UNlike FF7 and FF8 which are technology based worlds, FF9 is oldschool Airships and black mages roaming free. You follow Zidane ( Who is my favorite FF Character! EVER. ) and the rest of the team as they seek to save the world and protect the crystal. So, who else thought this game rocked? The story was amazing, the music was stunning as all FF Games are, the characters were in-depth and each one had their strengths and weaknesses. The story is ESPECIALLY good from about the end of disk three all the way through the end ( I dont wanna give away spoilers or anything ) but if you've played the game you know what part im talking about. And also - BEFORE ANYONE SAYS IT, ROFL - I know that 'Playonline' thing and the way they did the walkthrough that you bought with the game was EPIC FAIL. I tihnk we all know that, hmm? Rofl. Anyway, WHO SUPPORTS MY FINAL FANTASY IX OBSESSION?! HMMMMMMMMMM?!?!? :D |

I know FF XI, great graphics, great game and great effects but they never spread the game from other countries. Too bad, even I couldn't play Fantasy Earth from here.

@ Dark: YEEEEA! No body I know got Garnet's true name too - but I suppose now I know someone else who did! I thought it was wierd how her name seemed so 'random' to me. I mean, if I had to pick a name for her, I had about 99999 choices before I saw that one coming. @Sumner: Im thinking you mean FFIX, so ill say that I thought FF9 did get aroun to other countries? I know it had a release in Europe after it's Japan and North American release - and you mean it didn't get to your country? I would hate it if I didnt have FF9 in my liiiiife! Rofl |

Well not really, FFIX is hard to find in this country but they sell pirated CDs instead. FFXI on the other hand, didn't make it here so thats a bother.

I wish Tetra Master was actually fun to play.

oh yeah! glad to you guys showing some ff9 love!hahaha its a great FF to end the Ps1 era! plus the SD look is great! gameplay is solid, with character classes that has their own pros and cons..plus they are not limit dependent my only squabble with the game is that it only gets really interesting by disc 2... |

I loved Final Fantasy Ix from Opening credits to The final showing of the last scene as the credits rolled by and the game ended. I tihnk, no matter what, It will forever be my favorite game of all time - up there with Chrono Cross. And as for Tetra Master, dont ask me how, but I actually somewhat understood that game and had ALOT more fun with it then other people. I loved collecting the cards and battling with random people - made my day when all was said and done with the story. And the cahracter classes? Thats prolly what MAKES FF9 for me ( along with a hundred other things, rofl ) but the fact that Limits arent needed as much as other games and the fact you can customise everyone so much with equipment and abilities, made everyone able to be really good when done right - abd with limits you just make them insane. Another thing people may not get, is one thing I didnt like - the fact Your able to beat the game at around 40 if done right somewhat easyly ( I always ended up finishing the game around 60 -70 while playing through NORMALLY, cause I always get the level up ability for everyone early on ) and I find the final bosses to be somewhat a letdown. Even Ozma gets pretty easy, Rofl. But the game, is absolutely amazing - and infact, writing on this thread and starting it has made me want to go and play through FF9 again! Haha! ( And this is literally prolly my 100th time through. I play through the game over 10 times a year, and though that's ALOT OF PLAYTHROUGHS - It never seems to get old to me. Just liek Chrono Cross, which I have played through nearly just as much if not more ) :D |

Rofl - Ive gotten everything so many times it's insane. I know the script before it comes at me and I know the Bosses and strategies for all them before I get close. I knwo the location of all the items ( One thing that annoys me is the fact all the items are unable to be seen until your ontop of them! ) Though, that doesnt really annoy me now cause I got use to it, xD And Ive only gone after Excalibur once. Once I got it, I decided not to do it again, simply because it made the game more work then play for me. Id rather sit back, relax, and spend a few hours leveling up and playing cards :D |

Last time I finished the game was just 1 whole day. Like Z said, you can beat the game in less than 12 hours. Its my second try so I finished the game in just 1 whole day. Their story is my reason of why I play it again. I didn't even bother trying to get all the good stuffs.

The good stuffs makes playing through it multiple times worthwhile, Sumner ~~~. And yea, Like I said before, I found it easy- Yet Hard- and unrewarding to beat it in under 12 hours - Why I only did it once, so I could at least say I did it. I enjoy taking my time! And OH! I cant wait for Final Fantasy: Dissidia to come out - Zidane and Kuja are in it! |

FFIX, the last final fantasy ever created on earth (for me), everybody loves it... I never accept the PS2 releases as a part of the FF franchise, they missed a lot of the original FF spirits, FFIX is the last game that carried on the spirit of FF, hope square learned something from this... my PS is broken now and I really regret not finishing the game when I was able to do so... my first play data was corrupted at disc 3 so yeah, it made me lazy to play again... -_-;;
Gendou City Crossover RP! ~Coming soon~

@ HM Why not just use emulator like Epsxe. Then download all 4 discs. I tried it once and it works. @ Shuyin I know that. Like I said earlier: In my first try I played just to get all the good stuff. In my second try I finished the game in one day to understand the story.

Sumner, can you get that emulator for free and all and get the games and all in english for the computer? I ask this, because I know next to NOTHING about emulator's. The only thing Ive done is get like, Zsnes and downlaoded Chrono Trigger for it. If you could Sumner, please link me to where I could maybe get a PS emulator. I would lvoe to get some Games like FF to put on my computer! ( By the way, Member hwo I told you guys I started playing through FF9 after starting this forum? IM bout to be on Disk three. Right now I just left the Iifa Tree to return back to Madain Sari to get back the jewel that was stolen from Eiko - meaning fighting Amarant. ) Haha :D AND HHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I command you to find FF9 and get a memory card and play it on your PS2, or get an emulator like Sumner propsed! For the awsomeness of FF9 cannot - will not - and shall not be denied! Rofl! Haha, but I do hope you can someday play it all the way through, H :D |

In my game, I stopped just before Terra about a year ago, and never continued. Yeah, lack of motivation.

HAOIE!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW COOOOOOULD YOOOOOOOOU! ;_____________________________; Since you already mentioned the name of Terra, I should go ahead and say ( sorry if this spoils anything! ) That Terra is my favorite part of the ENTIRE GAME. That part of the game is EPIC. It throws everything you thoguht you knew out the window, has one of the biggest plot turns in any FF game Ive ever played, and is like I said - my faovrite part of FF9. On one of my memory cards, I actually have 3 saves right before I get in the sirship and leave for terra - one where IM level 40, one where Im level 50, and then one where IM like 65. Thats so I can play through Terra anytime I want, and depending on how easy/hard I want it to be, I can paly it on a certain level! Thats how much I love that part of FF9! |

I don't have vista but still, you have to try it if it works. Use the help link to my last post or the help bar in the ePSXe menu. If it still doesen't work, talk to me.
