I've searched, and only came across that other thread that says visual kei, but that one is more concentrated on what are your favourite VK bands. and since a favourite VK band already exists, let's talk about the style of music/fashion here shall we? unless this is the wrong thread, but im not sure. x_X

but anyways, i only know of Oshare Kei, Angura Kei,Ero Guro, Nagoya Kei, and of course visual kei. anymore that is needed to be added?

and oh, i will also update on those awesome indie bands that you guys never heard of before too. xD

The style is okay, but the music can totally be a bit overrated at times.
Some bands are just too visual and only get by on looks and I just cannot get into their music at all.
Others can probably be better if they loosen up on the Visual part of their style a bit.

Although I'm more into other genres like J-Rock and J-Pop, Visual is one of my least favorite typed genres and styles of music in Japan.

Agreed on that one. Some bands concentrate too much on their style, their music is blegh, i wonder if they listen to their own music.
While some their music is good, they dont really need to work on too much style. but some is just okay though, not too overrated in their style and good in their music, but still considered visual kei.

yea when i first started 2 listen 2 diru and watched the vids for cage and Saku i was like damn...but after awhile i just didnt pay attention 2 the looks. Same goes for despairs ray and the back in the day gazette. If the music is good thats all that matters for me.

Ero Guro is a kei.

Though it's somewhat a sub-sub genre of Angura, since it has a bit more gore and lots more vulgar/sickening stuff.

like メリー ahh I love merry. xD

or caliã‚gari!

but yeah, add Ero guro.

i never used to like visual kei until sometime this year. Usually i would just get "Ugh!" looking at their style/looks. It's just way over the limit sometimes. However, when I heard of Alice Nine, their appearance mattered no more. I just accepted them the way they are. And yeah, their songs are simply great!

Nightmare and The GazettE? But they do Rock music... I'm not sure what Visual Kei music is like, i thought it was a style?

Anyways, i believe they are Visual Kei or something, but they still do some amazing music.

Visual Kei in my opinion is just the same as JRock, except the emphasis on costumes and (no offense) lotsa fangirls.
