Where to start...
Link | by Becca on 2008-09-23 16:07:34
Well, in short i'm looking for good songs, but I guess i'm kinda picky...So basically this is for song recomendations.
I like sort-of rock-ish music
or orchestrated
something like Last Battle by Naoki Sato would be nice for orchestrated
also, for some reason, i hate songs with girls singing (not baised, i am a girl)
So, please please please help me out here!
Thanks
(*^_^*)

Well, L'Arc-en-Ciel or UVERworld would do the trick for you, I think. They're all bishies :-).

depends on what kind of rock you are looking for,

if you want a pure rock song (some say oldskool rock or arena rock) like Zepp or Aerosmith, you can always try B'z.
They also roam over other genres as well, like experimenting on oshare kei-like genre, dance, a mixture of pop, and their ever famous power ballads and rock-blues.
As a side note, their mid 90's songs are popular around older girls ^^

if you want pop-rocks, then Janne Da Arc is your best choice. Their songs are way too catchy even for a rock genre ^^

stepping to visual-kei, I think it's best to start out with something like alice9. or the oshare-kei An Cafe. Their songs are good for new listeners to this genre. Next in the lineup will be something like Gazette, or nightmare for a little taste of hardrock

for Hard Rock... Well, I don't know much about this genre. Some notable groups are Dir en Grey and the now disbanded Kagerou.

for mainstream J-rock, there are many choices like the well-known laruku, glay, UVER, and the others

Some notable bands are mentioned above, so no need for me to repeat.
For indie/pop type rock, try Ajikan (ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION).

Hmm..Songs with no girls singing?

Well for the bands just follow what the guys above me told you.I can't argue with the bands there. Also if you want cool instruments try FLOW.Try the songs of On/Off if you want a "Vampire" feel(Primarily cause the song they sang there are on the list here in gendou is for Vampire Knight...Lols) For the singles...

For the songs...Well I'll just give you title's that are found in Gendou and if you have the patience try and find the others songs Ill give you.Kinda rare to find but are some of my personal favorites

Found on Gendou:
"Shounen Heart" by Homemade Kazoku from Eureka 7
"Taiyou no Mannaka he" by Bivatchee from Eureka 7
"Karma" by Bump of Chicken from Tales of Abyss
"Cyclone" by 12012 from Romeo X Juliet

And for those songs that aren't found on Gendou
"Akai Suzu" by Asaki
"Gekkou Chou(or Gekko Chou..I dunno which one is the correct on)" by Asaki
"Departure" by Akino Lee
"Starlike Stereo" by Winnie(I know there's a girl singing here but its only a second voice I think.Just try and listen to it.Its a very very good song)

Anyway I'll post more songs here once I friggin' organize my Ipod..Haha.Hope that helps you.
