anime songs in english language

i really like listening to some anime songs. one of my favorites is the ending theme of hungry heart. the other is the opening theme of flame of recaa too bad, it is written in japanese language, i can't understand a thing.

i hope more and more anime songs are in english language, just like songs in gundam and cowboy bebop.

The opening and ending theme of Hundred Stories, the ending themes from Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, the opening theme from Serial Experiments Lain and the ending of Hellsing.

Those are a few anime songs in English language.

how truly disappointing!
anime used to be about accepting and loving japanese culture.
more and more i hear people who want to watch DUBS and listen to ENGLISH MUSIC.
it sickens me!
people who watch anime without embracing the japanese culture that created it are not welcome here. >:(

if i had some way of testing wether people appreciated japanese culture, i certainly would ban those who did not! however, all i can do is ban people like ginacolmo who project their ignorance upon others.

Actually, it's disappointing to hear anime songs in languages other than Japanese. It's like missing something 'original'.

But I guess banning them is a bit too harsh, don't you think?

"Originals" are much better to hear. you feel every beat of their song. Even though i don't understand them its the beat that counts! ^_^ and besides there's a lyrics site you can go to if you ever wanted to know what it means.

^_^v PEACE OUT!

songs sound better in their original forms...I heard songs being translated from japanese to english...most of the time the english ones don't sound as good as the japanese ones...so yeah...even watching the english version of anime isn't all that great...watching the japanese versions are better...oh wells...everyone has their own opinions...

Guys/girls. When I posted about the songs in English language, I meant that they are the 'original' songs. Not dubbed or anything. Anyway...

"broken wings" by tomoko tane - Trinity Blood
"YOU" by himawari - Samurai Champloo (this is ok)

dubs are so lame, they dont really go with the tune and lyrics are so lame..

well I agree anime songs sound a lot better in their original japanese format.

however there are a few exceptions,.. like Yoko Kanno's music from Macross Plus, like the song "Voices" (english and Japanese) and "Idol Talk" (french)

"SOmetimes you have to just leap, and build your wings on the way down"

Then what about ume no tamago (the egg of dream). The ending theme from Rahxephon. It was originally done in two versions. English and Japanese, but by the same artist.

guess we have the same opinion shards of ice.

i agree with Daqilaton. i am quite impressed at the singers who sang their song in english which is original.because im just impressed!^_^ Maaya Sakamoto is one of them...some songs that she has have either english or japanese version or both.

^_^v PEACE OUT!

I'm usually ok with Maaya's English stuff, but her "You're Not Alone" (English version of Yubiwa) was really... disappointing? Everyone's used the word, but I'd have to say that's the best way to describe it. The whole artistic melody was lost.

I think the only decent English translation of an anime song (in my opinion) would be Princess Mononoke from Mononoke Hime...

Tried to save myself but myself keeps slipping away...

Anime songs in english are cool... like the ending from ghost in the shell and hellsing... But because of that, i am not allowed to truly appreciate the culture of japanese anime music... so end up, english anime music just doesnt sound nice and right... let's stick to japanese shall we? haha
