Anyone play this game yet? It released earlier this week.
My friend got it and I was playing it with another friend last night at his house.

It's so fun. I had to leave, but yeah like I wanted to play it today. >_<;;

The hype was well placed and worth the wait. It really shines on multiplayer. I can't wait for them to release an expansion pack. 4 campaigns isn't enough to satisfy my zombie cravings.

ive played it and boy insane mode is crazy. i love how when the zombie rush comes it also comes from behind you and your sides instead of just the front. and the smokers are clearly a rip off of the lickers from resident evil. I do like the incredible hulk zombie aka tanks. it hit me once i flew like a mile away and became paralyzed for the regular zombies to eat me. hope they release DLC for extra campaigns

My friend said he'd try to get it tomorrow (Black Friday),
and hopefully play it that day or over the weekend at my house.

I read somewhere that's there's 12 weapons in the game. Anyone else know about this?
I'm hoping me and my friend can beat all the campaigns and explore other parts of the game.

I love the Zombie Rush. It just builds you up and you get hyped up and excited.
I think the double pistol is awesome, I use it more than my main weapon anyways. XD

Hmmmmm i heard about it. Though it doesnt really appeal to me. My brother says its fun but i don't really think the story is nice =.= Basically from what i've heard there is hardly a story behind it, just mindless zombie mowing.

If anyone gets his/her hands on the game do post a vid about it =) i really want to know if its worth buying cause im a great fan of FPS.

You can check for multiple videos on YouTube.
I've been watching them like, all week. :D

You can find the demo/trailer online,
and fan videos for the first and second campaigns,
though I haven't seen any for what, the other two?
I know they've beaten it, but haven't really seen any uLs yet,
though I don't wanna ruin in since I hope to experience it myself. :P

This type of game doesn't need that much deep of a plot. It's pretty simple. The world is infested with zombies. Then, the survivors will attempt to make their way through the danger in hopes of finding a way out. 4 movie-esque campaigns with 5 chapters. The impressive "AI Director" (which actually made all the difference for this game.). Most importantly zombies. Oh, how I wanted to play a decent zombie FPS.

It is a good brutal, bloody game which is really fun to play with friends.

I have not tried the multiplayer yet but playing as the infected seems to be interesting.

@devils-angel
- I didn't count. But, normally you'll get to pick from 2 main weapons: a shotgun and a sub-machine gun (Later on you'll find a sniper rifle, auto shotgun and assault rifle). 2 thrown weapons: Molotov Cocktails and Modified Pipebombs. Handguns have infinite ammo(Finding another Handgun enables you to dual wield both Handguns). And the other supplies: The medical kit and pain killers. You can only carry one of each (with the exception of the Handgun since it becomes a dual wield)

You will also find miscellaneous items scattered around which can be used as an explosive device (Gasoline Tanks, Propane Tanks, and Gas Canisters) which you could also bring along. However, they are items you need to carry and you won't be able to shoot while holding them. There is also a mini-gun in certain areas which you could use.

Oh, so they actually counted those other weapons as like, "weapons" overall?
Hmmm, now it makes sense. I thought they meant more weapons like, guns, rifles, etc.

Those pipebombs are nuts, though I never throw them at the right time or at the right area, haha.
I either throw them and hardly any zombies come to the area to get killed,
or I overthrow it and completely waste it.

I love how at certain parts of the game, you can be in a room where the pile where you load up ammo is right there.
It really helps with numerous waves of zombie rushes, and I'm just an opportunist and re-load after firing a bullet or so. XD

I've only played it once, like I said I think, but I prefer the double pistol and assault rifle.
I've been watching videos for Left 4 Dead all week long and I'm just urging to beat the other three campaigns!
I beat the first one with a friend last Friday, and started the second but never finished it.
I might try to experiment with the other weapons like the shotgun for instance.

I so wanna see the ending for this. Maybe it's hard to find videos for that online since nobody wants to ruin a good ending?

I never noticed that about the med kit and pain killers.
Though mostly I can only get one or the other anyways (someone takes the last med kit, last pain killers, etc.).
Though it's cool when you're really in danger, someone will give you the pain killers/heal you with their spare med kit.

The propane tanks are dangerous, be at a good area to shoot those during zombie rushes.
About the mini-gun, are you talking about that turret like weapon at certain areas of the game?

That's really insane, especially since it never burns out like in Gears of War or something like that.
It's also smooth and surprisingly quiet.

I haven't played as The Infected either, but I've seen a video of it where you can play as the Hunter.
I'm not sure if you can be the Witch, Boomer, etc. but the Hunter has a few flaws.
One is when you attack on someone (their major jumping abilities), you start scratching them.
Though if you've come across one in the game before, during the Chapters,
they're easy to kill. All you gotta do is go up to your teammate and just slap 'em off and they're dead.
It's the same thing when you're the actual Hunter, too, so that's one bad point.

You have to position yourself at a far area where you can easily find one of the non-infested and attack 'em.
Depending on their personal damage from the zombies, boomers, etc. it takes a little while to kill 'em I suppose.

One thing that might be helpful is after you die,
your respawn point is very close to one of the four remaining non-infected.
I saw in the video you literally can come back ten feet behind someone and start attacking them again.
That's a benefit though I read that people didn't really like that.

It'd be insane if you could be a Tank though! Now you'd be slapping people in the air, seriously.
I saw this fan video where one Tank (I think at the hospital campaign), slapped the black character right off the building!!

You just made me remember my first death... (Tank SMASH! *slap*)

Slapped me off the hospital rooftop...

Anyways, don't expect anything with the ending since they are all the same with each campaign. Which is a scene of the extraction vehicle getting out of the area. Dead Air's final chapter is hard though. You and your teammates will be exposed on all fours. I don't even get the chance to use the mini gun (Yes, the turret-ish gun).

I personally prefer the shotgun as my main weapon since I like its burst capabilities. I hardly have that much trouble with the hordes if I position myself right and manage my shots. Granted, I have not tried playing on the highest level yet and I am pretty certain that there were people saying the hordes there were larger when they appear. However, on trekking the areas if the mobs are manageable I just either shoot them with the handgun(s) from a distance.

The respawn points for dead survivors were good personally. The development team had initially planned dead survivors to respawn at safe houses but thought that it might take a long time for other survivors to reach a safe house. They felt that the player could be in observation mode for a long time if that was the case.

Pipebombs were modified as well. They thought that a thrown weapon that doesn't do anything but explode might be worthless since it may take some timing and the horde might have passed the pipebomb. So the development team thought of sticking an alarm (I think it was a smoke alarm) so the horde would gather to it.

Been playing on the commentary for some time now so the information came from there.

Yeah I read the the hordes or zombie rushes, whatever, are either longer or comes in more waves, or both even.
I remember seeing one online for the one Chapter where you have to jump on a Helicopter to end the level,
I think it was the first campaign's ending? Not sure, but yeah, I saw that level online and man they came in storms.

Also, I think the Tanks are stronger, too, since I saw the players having trouble killing it,
and it lasted a while and their shots were on point and whatnot, but that's just something I thought of.
Oh, and I found a great point where you can shoot at on that level too so I hope to try that out today or tomorrow.

And yeah, dying sucks though sometimes it's hard to not die,
but I do like being able to come back into the level before you end it while reaching to the safe house.
You just come back in some random closet somewhere, haha.
Only thing you loose your weapon of choice, and it sucks loosing dual pistols.

Oh, so the alarm is what's actually on those pipebombs.
I always thought it was some sort of heating device or something like that.

Helicopter? That's the first campaign.

You'll end up escaping on a plane, a boat and an armored transport in the other 3. But you'll still end up calling for help then holding out while hordes of zombies swarm at your location.

I am hoping for new campaigns in the future. As well as new characters or you can at least create your own (It's not that I don't like the characters though). New zombies are good too.

Anyways, I was surprised there was no Mall chapter or the like here. Maybe because they expected they might be sued like what happened to Dead Rising.

Sweet, I think I found some links to dL the PC version.
Might not be the same as the XBox version, but I might not have HD space for this anyways.

If it fits, then I'll just put it onto my External HD if I order it, since I need space soon.

probably one of the better games out that... friggin fun and fast paced, very addictive... downside is the small arsenal of weapons and zombie variety... plus this game is best played with your own friends in a cyber cafe, easier to communicate... waiting for more campaigns or expansions before i buy this, in the mean time, cyber cafes are my domain...

Going to buy this tomorrow for the PC.
Anyone else play the PC version yet?

[EDIT] Bought the game today. Took forever to find since it wasn't on the shelf yet.

I guess I have to register this online before I can actually play it (for some reason).
Guess it's because of its online features. I spent like half an hour trying to install it from the CD.

Such a fun game, but things tend to go very wrong very fast with me and my friends...

On another note, they have to speed up with new maps and weapons and shiz, but I heard that one of the new maps in development follows the layout of Resident Evil 2 -drools-

Feed a man a fish and he'll be full for a day. Attack a man with a fish and he'll be confused for a week.

I have few complaints about this game. It's quality as always from Valve. Gameplay is excellent. I don't know many other games that force you to play as a team like L4D. I really miss some new weapons tho. If it had numerous handguns, shotguns, rifles and so on, all with different stats, it would really be awesome. I think it'd add a lot to the game if you could get favorite weapons, instead of the Colt 1911 akimbo or not, a shotgun, an uzi, an autoshotgun, an assault rifle, and a hunting rifle. They get old pretty fast. Oh and HEY, why not some melee weapons? xD It'd break the gameplay, but I'd love to try beating them instead of shooting.
So how many do actually play this on Steam? I'm gonna give out my Steam ID here. I wouldn't mind having some more L4D buddies.

The game is confusing to install.
I simply inserted the disc onto my computer, and clicked on "install" and it wouldn't let me install it.
I read on the back of the game that you have to register this online (Steam), which I did this morning.
Then it dLed (which is kind of like installing it), but now I have to dL a new updated version of the game driver or whatever to actually play it.
I could've skipped this and just continued on with the process,
though it said the game might not play correctly and I really don't want to damage this.

Still trying to install my Spy Sweeper w/ Antivirus, too, sidenote this but my Windows Installer is acting so weird lately.
Hopefully I can play this by tonight, over the weekend, but there's plenty of time since I'm on Christmas break now.

I guess registering it on Steam.com (also you need an account) is related to the online features of this game, right?
Gotta restart my computer now, but hopefully things can finally get going after I restart and this driver is installed!

Wow, a word of advice to you DA, if it needs Steam, buy it on Steam. Saves a lot of effort, updating and registering all happens automatically. The only reason why you shouldn't buy on Steam is if your connection is extremely slow.
And yes, Steam is for achievements and all that. If you get used to using Steam, you'll actually find out it's quite good, Steam community and all. I've bought tons of games on there already, I haven't had any problems so far.

Going to delete that messy post and make a new one...

Well, it's pretty much a bummer, but I think I'm going to return it, officially.
I've tried installing it numerous times now, and there's always some issue or the same issue that pops up during installation.
I don't want to go to another restore point on my computer, since my anti-virus program might be un-installed, too,
because when I had the game up and working two days after I bought it, I could not get my anti-virus program running whatsoever.
I'd rather have the anti-virus program up compared to the game installed, but that's a big lost on my part since I REALLY WANT TO PLAY IT MORE!!

I've only beaten three of the four campaigns, didn't even get to the Blood Harvest one yet. :/
I was going to replay the entire game after I beat it through once, but now that can't be the case anymore.
I've tried looking throughout google results for assistant, and their main [Steam] website just doesn't help at all.

I don't feel like dangling with in-depth stuff within my computer's settings and dealing with all that,
since one, I'm not that technical when it comes to that area of the computer,
and second, I don't want to mess up something since I'd most likely not have a clue on what I was changing, removing, etc. anyways.

It was fun while it lasted, sadly enough, but I guess the only good thing I can get now is my money back since I still have the receipt.

Must of been a bad time to purchasing and trying to install the game since I have an issue with my computer a few short weeks ago.
Then dealing with the anti-virus thing not being installed, it just gave me all sorts of issues.
Now my computer is back to normal and I don't have a care in the world, but it still sucks I have to return it.
For this I hate Steam, still wished you could just play it off the disc after installing it, but the online aspect is just too big of a feature to leave out with this game.

*sigh*

Sidenote this one, but that one crazy video with the German kid flipping out on his computer,
while I was trying to find out help on one forum, a member stated that the reason for him being so angry was because of Steam.com, lol. XD

Well, guess I just have to enjoy it at a friend's house or something.
Not buying a 360 just to get it, cause I don't really play console games anymore, or any games really, but L4D is just plain addicting.
